Subject: Please report any BUG issues with the new site in this thread only!

Larry F ( ) posted Mon, 11 July 2011 at 11:42 AM

Yes, I did that after reading the message below my question.  Still don't see it.

Will try again.  BRB.

Larry F ( ) posted Mon, 11 July 2011 at 11:46 AM · edited Mon, 11 July 2011 at 11:47 AM

Okay - NOPE! I see no option for "keep me logged in", just space for my name, then p/w and below that is a register.  Cleaned my cache, changed browsers, etc.

Oh - and "site mail", but that's it.  Thank you, though.

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 11 July 2011 at 11:48 AM

The techs will be addressing this issue soon

In the meantime

Here is the direct link

Hi, thanks for the link, but I don't see it. That is the same place I was.

I'll sign off again, clear, and try a bit later.

BTW, this is not a big deal; has been an annoyance. If not today, soon enough.

Thank you.

EDIT: Okay, I can see it in IE, but not Opera. Will sign off and check Firefox.

Larry F ( ) posted Mon, 11 July 2011 at 11:58 AM

Ooooo-KAY! That did it.  Thank you all. Persistently elusive little devil!

And, after all that, have to sign off and drive my wife somewhere!

In the above screen capture (FireFox 3.6.18, Win2k) the poster has embedded an off-site image, and this forces the cell that contains to post to assume a greater than normal width. This bug also existed previously, but now the new add panel on the right occludes part of the text and graphics. The post can't be read. I suggest that the cell that contains the graphic should have a limited width, to prevent this problem.

The URL captured in the above image is:

lesbentley ( ) posted Tue, 12 July 2011 at 3:14 AM · edited Tue, 12 July 2011 at 3:16 AM

P.S.
It's worse than I thought. Even the text not covered by the add runs off the edge of the page without wrapping!👎

lesbentley ( ) posted Tue, 12 July 2011 at 3:52 AM · edited Tue, 12 July 2011 at 3:53 AM

These issues predate the latest site changes, but it would be really nice if they fixed the Reply Box Editor so that the FireFox spell-check worked in the editor. like it used to do before they "fixed" (broke) the editor!

Also text placed in 'pre' tags now comes out with double line spacing. This is very bad, as pre tags are usually used for code snippets.

lesbentley ( ) posted Tue, 12 July 2011 at 9:02 AM

The length of the string in the 'Location' field affects the width of the avatar table cell. The maximum length for this string seems to be 39 characters. If all characters in the string are used, this gives a width for the cell of approximatelly 289 pixels. Perhaps it would be a good idea to restrict the width of the cell to 145 pixels and allow the Location string to wrap?

I have been noticing that many posts by various artists are not appearing to be in focus, but when they are opened in full screen they are.just since the new web page design

nobodyinparticular ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2011 at 5:14 PM

Just over in the Poser forum, and the boxes on the side (Advertising, What's Hot Today, etc.) were overlapping the text boxes on the right side. When I came over here, it stopped. Isn't doing it now. Intermittent problem? Working too much on my part?

Haven't seen any elephants. Will keep an eye out. Did see sugarplums dancing around, but they turned out to be in my head.

Thanks for all the hard work. This really is a great place.

Hi newbie:):)

Can you post a direct link to what thread you were in over there when this happened so I can research further

nobodyinparticular ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2011 at 11:10 PM · edited Thu, 21 July 2011 at 11:10 PM

I'm afraid I can't recall. Very busy day. I do remember checking and it was more than one thread. When I went to report it in this thread, I noticed it was no longer there. Went back and it was no longer happening. Perhaps my machine? I always customize the software I use. Still, standard FF 5, Win 7 up to date. Sorry to trouble you. Perhaps not worth fretting over. If it happens again, I will be more specific.

the problem nobodyin mentioned seems to be intermitent. One place I saw it at http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2831833

earlier but when I when i went back to get the link it was fine.

Also did the wiki retire? Can't find a link for it.

I guess we can see how popular it is if it took this long for people to notice it was gone.

For me its log in, not seeing my cookie?  Then take a link while in, go back and it is back to log-in, not the forum where I was     "Keep me logged in" is checked.

I believe this has been reported previously but this is the first occurance for me.  That is a pain.  So, a bug.

Daidalos ( ) posted Sat, 23 July 2011 at 12:01 PM

Dear Stacey and Staff.

First I would just like to say I like the new site. This blue is way better than that other greyish blue nastiness I always hated.

That having been said however I would like to ask a question. Where there any changes made to our bios. I cannot seem to find the post I'd put up there.

And more importantly, does this mean there will be a new logo contest, or has that gone by the wayside, as so many other of the um, lets just say "oldtimer" activities here have. LOL

Again great job on the new site layout guys.

With regards,

Daidalos

scifiguy ( ) posted Sat, 23 July 2011 at 3:41 PM

Marketplace product pages cannot be viewed in Firefox 5. It appears that this is due to some tracking pixel you are using:

http://tracking.searchmarketing.com/welcome.asp?SMCID=1982&x=

What happens is the page loads briefly, then it refreshes to a totally blank screen and the browser sits there trying to load this thing. It does not alter the URL in the address bar like a page refresh, but if I use Firebug to "Inspect Element" on the blank page is shows that it is because this tracker has failed to load. It does not do it anywhere else on the site that I could find, only actual product pages. It is possible that their server sends incorrect/non standard headers that Firefox will no longer tolerate or something but I really don't know.

What I do know is that the one thing I can no longer on Renderosity is buy something. I'm not inclined to change browsers to accomodate a third party attempt to track me.

nruddock ( ) posted Sat, 23 July 2011 at 7:14 PM

Block images from that host (FF can do this without any plugins), or install NoScript which will block webbug images.

Well I'm not kidding when I say "Yes, let the vendors have rotten blues if that's what they want - and give the rest of us back our nice greys" cos anywhere it's blue, I'm not going there.

If I did want to buy anything - I'd go elsewhere, where there are no rotten blues.  Trouble is I can't go to the galleries any more either.

Flint, this was due to the CSS you had in your gallery options with that large font size. It was pushing the page out cause the font was so large and if the image had a long title, it caused this. I've set it back to the standard site 12px but if you need the font larger than that, you will probably continue having the issue you described above.

If you hit the back button and go back on page, it will still be there so I'm not sure I'm understanding what you mean cause this is how it is supposed to work if you hit the back button...

Your bio? You mean on your Artist page? If so it's still there, just go to the Members tab on the top navigation the Artist Page. If that isn't what you mean, you will need to be more specific so I can help you.

The logo contest won't be happening this year as in the past several ones, the participation level has been really low and we are going to try and stick with a certain branded look with our Renderosity font.
