How do I go about unlocking M4s dials so I can have a little bit more control?

Unhide, or unlock?

I don't think  the UnHide Dials script from D3D will unlock anything (I might be wrong). And if it's unlock that you are after, which dials are locked in M4?

I made you this pose file that might help, depending on what dials are locked. It should work, but I have not had time to test it as I have other things going on in Poser at the moment. It unhides and unlockes all the transform dils in the selected actor (scale, rotate, translate), and unforces the limits, and unlocks locked actors. Unfortunately it can't do anything for targetGeom (morph) of valueParm (FBM) channels, that would require a pose containing the specific names of those channels.

It will also make a 'hidden' (from the menu) part, unhidden, eg the V4 M4 "bodyMorphs" actor or the V4 magnets, but you have to select them via the Hierarchy Editor befor you apply the pose.

lesbentley...

I'm convinced that if I asked for a python script for time travel either you, philc, or ocham could come up with it in under 30 minutes! (Big Grin)

Nicely done.

? is there a script that can hide, from the menu, all the M4 body parts in clothing that doesn't have geometry?

that would be kewl. 😄

Never heard of a Python script that does that.

How about this, a pose file to to hide all the body parts from the menu and mouse selection, except Body? I don't think you really need to select individual body parts in a conformer as a rule. With cursor selection they are just a nucence, because you tend to select the conformer when you are trying to select the character.

Give me a few hours, and I'll see what I can come up with.

Here you go, try this. Again I don't have time to test it at the moment, so fingers crossed again. Please let me know if it works for you.

Hides the standard body parts, except 'Body', from the menus and cursor selection. You will still be able to select the parts via the Hierarchy Editor. Should work on V4 and M4 and conformers made for those figures, or any figures that have the same body parts. It will not hide none standard body parts, eg wings, laser cannon, etc, which is probably a good thing. May not work correctly in Poser versions prior to P6. Note that when you first apply the pose, the currently selected body part will not be hidden untill you select something else.

I will attach the undo pose to my next post.
