Subject: Antonia Polygon - WM has been released!!

Quote - Note that in addition to the default shader in the package there is also the Post-240 shader using Sub Surface Scattering.

Is that the VSS shaders I see in the MAT pose folder?  Are those meant to be used with SSS checked?

What lights do they not work with?

Loaded and rendered, each figure has the textures they come with.

Didn't touch Antonia WM's genital handles, this is the first time I load her WM version here (I know... how negligent of me after downloading most of the beta versions LOL).

I didn't have to change anything in the version of these poses for Antonia Standard. They work perfectly with Antonia WM as far as I can see... which has me happy happy LOL

When I made this pose for V4 long ago, I had to leave her higher up, not really sitting on her feet, to avoid a very ugly bend in her knees and because she didn't sit in the right place. Antonia allowed me to make the correct pose. And look at those legs in Antonia WM (last one)! Wow.

Yes, the WM is the one on the right, Standard in the center.

Awww it seems we will need different poses after all. Here you can see WM's legs twist at a different pace.

So, the WM version does behave a little differently for your poses. Very slight. Will you do a WM version also? Hint Hint

Yeah, I know I'm making more work for you. :)

Probably will, shouldn't be hard to fix.

And I just noticed I forgot to fix the head position for the Antonia version for this pose. Will do it later. And that's enough for now, if anybody wants I'll post more comparing renders when I convert the rest of these poses.

Is that the VSS shaders I see in the MAT pose folder?  Are those meant to be used with SSS checked?

Yes.See page 393 of the Poser Reference manual:

Materials that use subsurface scattering will not render properly if this option is disabled.

Quote - What lights do they not work with?

There were some issues in IDL scenes that use as a main light dource indirect light from a surface with a high ambient value (miming a diffuse screen as used in a photographic studio) and a specular-only spotlight for the highlights. There is nothing wrong with the combination in itself, except that the conventional shader gave better results in those cases. There has been late work going on to solve the issues. There is no good or bad in this case. Just check and see how shaders work out for you in your scene. The readme .pdf gives guidance on how you can tweak the Post-240 shader to your needs.

Actually just to clarify... correct me if I'm wrong... The 'VSS' in the Pose folder refers to BagginsBill 'Versatile Shader System' and does not use SSS...

The SSS shaders can be found in the material collection folder (somebody will have to explain to me one day how Mat poses ever ended up in the Pose folder instead of the Material folder.. probably a holdover from an earlier version of poser that didn't have that functionality? Otherwise it makes no sense to put them there)

I just love how easy she is to pose... this one was done just dragging her around the viewport with the mouse... very minimal dial work

Most poses used with the wm version will need some adjustment. Except for the ones made for her..

And, excuse me, but that dress is stunning!

Thank you :) Actually the Eternal Frost dress which will recieve an update and add on :)

But back to Antonia. When I look at the pics, fantastic. The WM version is fun to play, because the bending is absolut realistic.

Oy, thank you very much!

I've always loved seing what people create with my products. Every now and again I look at my production credits here at Rendo to see if someone credited me for something. Too bad RDNA doesn't have that feature in their galleries (or I haven't found it yet), but I've been eyeing their Antonia gallery looking for those LOL

Antonia Polygon - Standard works in all versions of Poser (and has been demonstrated to work in Daz Studio as well!).

Antonia polygon - WM was designed to showcase Poser 9/PoserPro 2012's new features. Because of this, her weight-mapping and shaders only work in P9/PP2012.

Yes, we included those shaders for the sake of completeness. Wanting to give people as many choices as possible. Personally, I like the Post-240 shaders the best, but then I'm prejudiced.

It is, Meatsim. This is a main driver for the whole weightmapping thing. You do not need JCM's to get an acceptable result while still having the comfort of conforming clothing. The result of porting the base figure rigging can not match simulation with the right parameters and start conditions (i.e. one order of magitude above Poser's current Cloth room), but it does well enough in many cases. If more work is needed, you can change the mapping (Pro 2012 and above only), or add magnets and JCM's as before.

Will expect with time to see clothing base figures with bending distribution more appropriate to cloth, with reduced stretch and wrinkles instead of contraction. The good thing with Antonia is that these can be freely distributed including the associated geometry (the geometry contains an essential part of the weightmap information!). This is why the Creative Commons License structure of both Antonia's mesh and her WM rigging are paramount.
