Subject: Rigging Question

Parthius ( ) posted Tue, 15 November 2011 at 4:43 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 8:05 PM

I have imported and applied a head morph to Genesis, but the eyes are shifted so I need to adjust the bones/joints for the eyes. This is easily done (using the Joint Editor), but I haven't found a way to save the resultant figure in a way that also saves the changes the changes (Save as DSF Figure does not save the joint changes).

How do you save Joint Editor changes for a figure?

There is a lot to like in DS4, but the documentation (being completely missing) is not one of them...

I figured it out; if you click on "align node" and "memorize" it saves the information.

You could have used ERC freeze to link the adjustments to the morph, what you have done has (I think) changed the basic figure (which may have been what you wanted).

It did change the basic figure unfortunately (so I had to change it back). I'll try experimenting with ERC freeze. THanks!

I'm finally getting back to this and I can't figure out how to freeze ERC.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could enlighten me!

Some documentation would go a long way towards making figuring this out a less frustrating experience...

The draft documentation is here http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/start ERC freeze requires that you have the changes you want to make in place, then you go to the property Editor and open the option menu (click the little menu button in the top corner, or right-click the tab) and select ERC Freeze.... In the dialogue, pick your figure, pick the node with the controller you want to govern the settings, and pick the property you want to control the settings (presumably your morph), then make sure the changes you want linked to the morph are ticked in the Freeze properties list and click Accept.

Thanks!
