About the SLG pqle texture deal, you should try using the SLG included with LuxRender 1.0. Just copy it over the one in plugins/Reality and relaunch the render.

I have "smallluxgpu2.exe" in my lux folder and "slg2.exe" in my Reality folder.  Are those the files you're talking about?

You need to copy smallluxgpu2.exe into the plugins/Realiy dir and rename it slg2.exe. If there is a Freeimage.dll file in Lux then copy that file too.

Here's a quickie render of what GenX does to Charlie's chest when dialed in fully.  I double and triple checked to make sure no settings got hosed.  My next step is to reinstall GenX and try again.

Aww.. poor Charlie, that is very little indeed.. Dunno why that is happening, I know I simply 'dailed' her morphs when I made her, so no fancy stuff.

Yeah, can't post nude renders over at DAZ 3D--and you know me--I'm a rebel--so here we go! :) Nice work with Reality 2 buddy!

Another DS4 + Reality 2 render, this time with V4.  Not sure how Rendo will resize this one, but it needs to be seen in full size... ;) Thanks for viewing!

NOW you tell me about this deal.. I never knew there was anything to copy over..thought it was working as it was supposed to.  Paolo.. you seriously need to brush up on your mind-reading skills.  How can you properly provide tech support for your product if you can't read the minds of your users?????

Pret-a-3D ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 3:35 PM

Trying my best **Sharkbytes-BamaScans **:)

When Reality 2.0 was released SLG was not part of the LuxRender distribution and so I had to include it with Reality. Later on I was able to convince the Lx developers to include it so that it would be always updated with the latest Lux builds. Reality 2.5 will not include SLG anymore and it simply run the version that is included in LuxRender 1.0.

Hope this helps

Just make sure you don't use tin foil.. that actually BLOCKS the mind-reading ability.

One question though.  The SLG that is included in Lux1.0.  What does it have over the version that is included in reality?  Is it faster, handle lights better, textures better? I've already transfered it over; but, was just wondering what to expect when I sent my overnight rended to go.

Pret-a-3D ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 4:38 PM

It should have a more accurate handling of textures.

It's Hard To Be Humble

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
’Cos I get better lookin each day

To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a woman

I used to have a boyfriend
But I guess he just couldn't compete
With all these love starved men
Who keep clamoring at my feet

Some folks say that I'm egotistical
Hell I don't even know what that means
I guess it has something to do with the way

Here is the last image on your list. I copied the URL, then used the insert image icon, inserted it into the message, then went to the advanced tab, put in 600 in the first size box, left the other one blank and it automatically resizes for this forum/thread. Then clicked on the image and hit the link icon, added the original URL and open in a new window, viola.

BTW, awesome images, lots of work went into those.

It's actually quite fast.. after a couple times doing it it shouldn't take longer then 10 or 15 seconds.

I used to spend a lot of time on flightsim.com, simviation and avsim (not so much avsim) but I haven't even reinstalled FSX since my last pc rebuild about a year ago, too much to do, too little time!  Back in the old days I spent quite a bit of time at the MSN Gaming zone with FS98, FS2K and FS2K2, as well as CFS/CFS2, ah memories.

She used the Amphitrite Hair from Daz.. think it was made by Mairy & 3Dream.  She has her own computer to render on.  It actually renders faster than mine.  This fall I'll be getting a computer built strictly for 3d rendering as I'm a CAD/Architecture major and will use the hell out of it in the next few years.  Hopefully it'll be fast enough so that we can both use it to render our hobby stuff on.  Other than that, this house if full of computers of varying strength and they all contribute when it comes time to do network renders.

Just in case anyone is interested, I've uploaded my zipped V5 push-up morphs (L+R) to my website. Here's the URL:

http://www.erikleeman.com/ZIP/Push-Up_Morph.zip

(I've included the directory path for Windows PC)

Please Note: Although they do work with the standard Genesis female figure, they only work as intended with V5!

I haven't tried installing these .dsf's on any other PC yet, so I really don't know if they will work on yours. If they don't, you can always extract the deltas from them and make your own controls for DAZ Studio.

Question: is there a way to insert newly made morphs into already existing Genesis projects? To my frustration I haven't been able to do that, but maybe that's how it's supposed to work in DAZ Studio?

Cheers!

Yes, you can do that by selecting your figure (ie. genesis) and then replace it with a new one. When that figure has loaded complete you simply chose undo - you have your original figure back with the new morphs.

Hope that helps.

Car paint? Anyone have an idea on the best shader for this. I have tried the metal setting, the mirror setting and the glossy, none are right for a new car. The metal is closest, but not enough reflection. I am using an IBL, so there is something to reflect. If I could combine the metal with the mirror settings, it would be perfect.
