Subject: A message and a request from flashback.

flashback37 ( ) posted Fri, 05 October 2012 at 5:36 PM · edited Mon, 02 December 2024 at 4:41 PM

I'm hoping that there are some here who frequent the Daz forums.  I need a little help.

For a week now I've been locked out of the Daz forums, I can read them but can't post.

I haven't been banned, there is a glitch in the site and  it simply will not log me into the system.

If anyone here knows me, please post a message at Daz that I am ok, but I may not be coming back. This is the second time this has happened to me, during big sales as well!

I am pretty pissed at Daz right now and even if they fix this, I'm not sure if I want to continue this rather expensive hobby.

Anyways, I think there may be a few Daz forumites who are wondering why I disapeared.

If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

John aka flashback

Hi John, I and several others had problems this past weekend. My situation was I'd click on something to purchase but it would not show any place. If I clicked on purchase again I would get the message that I had already bought it. Also the scroling window, right side, would not scroll. I left a message on the Marketing Forum.

Do you have a particular forum that you want your post on??

Hi, thanks. I'm having some computer issues myself or I would have replied sooner.

I think either the commons or the Art Studio would be fine.

No word from Daz yet.

Have you tried stuff like clearing your browser cache and deleting your DAZ cookies? All we, as forum admins, can do is reset your forum password - poking around in the inner wiring and doing anything store-related will take DAZ itself, either sales or the web team if they can't help, which of course limits help to DAZ working hours.

Hi Richard!

Yes I've done all I can do, this is the second time this has happened so I started with the cookies/cache thing. No joy. Jesse over at Daz support said he hadn't seen anything like it.

I appear to be logged in and not logged in at the same time. I can shop the store and get PC prices in my cart, but the prices are regular in the store :?  When I click on "My Subscriptions" I'm bounced back to my account dashboard.

Yesterday they sent me an e-mail with a password reset link......it was borked as well.

What's really got me peeved is that I have no idea what's going on in the PC Anniversary sale because I can't see the MO forum.  I'm a PC member paid through November.

I'll probably be asking for a refund on what's left of my membership though, no point in throwing away money on something I can't even access.

In my experience, it would seem that you have a corrupted profile. The sad part is a profile can not be saved, it's been a while so maybe it is fixable now. If not then it has to be deleted. not knowing how thins are setup, it may be possible to tie your new profile with your existing database setup.

If you are on  apage showing you logged in, try logging out - then log in again. You've probably already tried this, of course, but if not it may help.

Richard,

These are problems Daz should have sorted before starting the anniversary sale.  How many people had their profile or whatever changed by Daz when they asked for a refund?  Now they can no longer even get to sale items or forums, they cannot participate until someone fixes their account and customer service is really slow about doing this.  It is October 7 and the anniversay sale started last week, but there are people who will miss out.

I really miss the Daz of old.

Lol, yes, I've logged in-out and it does nothing.  In fact, since I can still read the forums I've tried pretty much everything suggested. Even Daz support can't figure it out.

I even suggested just abandoning the acct and starting a new one but got no response on that one.  Also, lucky me, I seem to be last on the list as the  replies I get come right at the end of the business day.

I'm having similar problems, but mine are worse. I can't login the main Daz website to buy something or even look at my wishlist. I can still browse the site, but I can't login. I can go to the forums and post, though.

Try as I might, I've tried logging in, logging out, both on the Daz main site and the forums. I have tried clearing my cashe, my cookies, nothing works.

Someone mentioned on the DAZ forums that she got Chrome for her browser and hasn't had a problem since. No idea how to get that.

Do a google search, or Download it from Google.

Having this trouble as well. My account works for a while, then I can log in, but can't post. Each time Help Desk fixs it my account stops working again after a few days. I tried Chrome, Firefox, IE, OS X.6, Win XP, Win 7 and two different ISP's. This is not a end user issue as far as I can tell.

Hey Richard!!!

What's the proper procedure for asking for a refund on what's left of my PC membership?

I've had enough,  the last communication I got from Daz was on Friday and it was a broken password reset link. I immediately amended my  support ticket and waited. Nothing.

I didn't expect to hear from them until yesterday but still nothing even today!

I love the PC and participating in the forums, but if Daz can't/won't-bother-to fix the problem it would be stupid of me to let them keep my money.

Daz has just lost another customer.

I work in a retail store and I know that if you screw your customers, they won't BE your cutomers anymore.

Are you in the US, flashback?  If you are, you could call them.

Christian22179 ( ) posted Tue, 09 October 2012 at 9:15 PM

Well, I downloaded Google Chrome Browser. All my problems with the Daz website disappeared. Maybe try that, Flashback?

flashback37: I think you will need to open a support ticket, though if it's an annual membership more than a month old I'm not sure a cash refund will be an option. Christian22179: In theory changing browsers shouldn't do anything that clearing the cache and cookies doesn't - and it really shouldn't be needed in any event. But, thoery aside, I'm glad it worked.

flashback37 ( ) posted Wed, 10 October 2012 at 4:29 PM

In theory....well it worked for me too. I don't understand  why, but it did.

And what did Daz change that suddenly made IE9 stop working? it's only Daz's site that I have trouble with.

Now I have to go see if my "Subscriptions' page is available again.

Thanks, I'm glad it worked too. But, I don't know why, clearing my cashe and cookies didn't help at all. I still had the same problems. Still do if I use IE 9. As as Flashback said,  I'm fine whenever I go anywhere else in IE 9. Not so on the DAZ website.

Very puzzling.

Something to keep inmnd with IE 7 and up. Each user get their own profile. It could very well be that your profile has become corrupted. This has happened to me. The easiest way to test is to creat a new user. Then see if you can access DAZ.

There are a couple more things you can try. One is a registery cleaner called Jet Clean. It comes in two flavors; free and Pro. I use free at work and pro on my own stuff. The best thing about Jet Clean is it is fast and very good. I have fixed many a problem with a registery cleaner. Everything from printers not working to speeding up systems.

Where I am going with this is I believe that Chrome worked because it was a fresh install.

Give it a shot, what have you got to lose.
