Subject: Anyone know of a script that puts the selected object in front of the active cam

Anyone know of a script that puts the selected object in front of the active camera?

I hate adding a prop then having to look for it. Do you guys know a clever way to put the item you add directly in front of you?

I'm thinking a script. Before I write it, I was hoping someone else already did it.

Point at selected in hierarchy too convoluted? Although, I must admit that laurie's cryptic response had me looking around for a little undocumented button for a second (and jeez will I be embarrassed if there is one). No keyboard short cut for point at though... unless they added a "Pro" one ;)

Edit_ ahhh, nevermind he wants to put the object in front of the camera rather than have the camera point at the object. Hmmm, that's a good one. An objects origin is at zero xyz when it loads even if those coordinates aren't matching the zero coordinates of the poser work space. I think, stumped on this one.

It's looks like brackets with a ball in it. LOL

Maybe it is just in pro. I have no idea but I do have pro.

Yeah, it's not the traditional point at anyway... They must have added the little ball with brackets in Pro, Laurie. I'm not seeing it.

_ solved, Poser 9 feature.

That moves camera to focus on the selected object. I want the opposite effect.  Basically whereever my camera is pointed, I want the prop to end up somewhere in front of the camera.

Instead of moving the camera, it moves the object in front of the camera.

You're out of luck then. LOL

Python script "snap to" by Ockham, moves selected object to clicked location. Not sure if it's Poser 9/pro usable though...
