I haven't check it myself yet, but I don't think the DUF format is visible to DS if it's in a Poser runtime, so saving a material preset to work with a PZ2 is a non starter, especially as DS3 can't see them either.
What you need to do is save using "File > Save as > Deprecated > Materials Preset", this will allow you to save as a DSA, which is compatible with both DS3 and DS4.
I went and saved the Materails as suggested- under the depreciated segment (which I forgot about, thank you) of the menu. The DSA file was made, along with a PNG file...that saved oddly. Armor Base.dsa and Armor Base.dsa.png
I noticed the .duf files had the same issue with the .png- the png saved Armor Base.duf.png
I went back and removed the extra extension- be it .duf or .dsa - to have them saved as .png.
I then went into the mt6 file, changed it to a pz2 and inside the editor switched out the MTL section of the data with figure.
That. in DS3, had all of the files show in the menu, but only half uploaded onto M4.
What frustrates me is that I've saved character files many times before, for paid commission work, and never had this issue. That was in DS 3 Advanced, though.
I'm more than a little irked that everything's changed, and it just simply cannot be spelled out in one place how to actually save a character file from start to finish- I've tried going through the "documentation" offered for Studio 4.6, but that's a joke since more than half of it is either in "Draft" or not started.
I hate to say it, but I may end up saying to heck with it and leaving it for DS 4.6 and Poser Pro, even if that means having to leave so many other people out of the loop if I can't figure this out.
All I wanna do is save my character's skin textures/settings in DS3 Advanced! Seriously. Urg.
The .dsa and .png file made in Studio did not show up in the menu after they were added- that is my issue. Nothing to do with the Poser files at all- and if the material files are saved in the same folder as the .dsa and .png, saved with the same names, the .png file can be used for either the .dsa or .mt6.
When saving the .dsa/.png file into the runtime folder structure, upon re-opening Studio 3 the items did not show in the menu to be used. That is the issue.

Well, I can't seem to find the thread I posted previously on this subject, so I am doing it again.
Here is the c/p of the previous request- if anyone can give asistance it would be greatly appreciatedI have an issue I hope some Studio users can help me with?
I have both DS3 Advanced and DS4.6 Pro. I know that the material settings you can save from File>Save As>Materials in DS4.6 Pro are saved as .duf extensions and not backwards compatible with previous versions...
My question is this: I have saved a material file using the correct pathways from the texture folder in the surface tab as a .duf extension with a corresponding .png file though the .png file does not show up in the application menu under Pose even when I close out Studio and re-open it to check to see if everything saved. What the heck (Edited for whatever) am I doing wrong? My folder progression is thusly:
Runtime/Libraries/character/Armor M4 - injection files
Runtime/Libraries/material/Armor M4 - Poser material files (which work)
Runtime/Textures/Armor M4
Runtime/Libraries/Pose/Armor M4 -which has nothing showing in the program even if the .duf and .png files are in the blasted folder.
I need to figure this out for this to be sold, and I'm beyond frustrated. I have to get this into DS3 Advanced to set up the files for previous versions as well as the SSS Settings for 4.6... It's a lot of work to get done, and I have very little of it to spare.
Can anybody help? Thanks!.
