Got Daz Studio to work.
Gave Administrator full permission
Gave Trusted Installer full permission
in program files (x86) where I installed DS4.6,,,, after I took ownership first.
For some reason I can't paste links through firefox on this forum or I'd post a link showing you how to own the files in Windows 7.
If you want the link go to the Daz forum link I manually typed in on an earlier post and look at my last post there. Easy instruction on how to do it there.
The problem Windows file permissions.
I hope I am in the right place. I need to know specs on a graphics card that will open the latest DAZ Studio. My Tech is having difficulties and I can't find anything anywhere that might help. I am reading also, that I need to have my system set on high performance, make sure I have permission to open the program,(he set it so anyone can use the computer), and the latest visual C++ which I had done before I took it back after getting an error message that that I need at least an Open GL of 1.3 which he upgraded to a 2.0. He also took out the ATI card and put in a new NVidea and I just talked with him and he said it still would not open. Never have had such a time with this program opening before.
ANY help is so appreciated! Thank you!!
Back again. I called my Tech and he wants to know if you might talk with him so he can get this right for me. I said I would give you his number here in Iowa or perhaps you can give me a number so he can call you back? He told me that the new card would override the one in the processor so he doesn't quite understand. I let him know you are one of the staff.
His name is Zach Knorr from Computer Heaven in Cedar Rapids, IA.

He is really trying to fix my pc so I can continue to use DazStudio. Thank you!
Since I am in the UK that would be a pricey call, and I don't in any event have the experience of working with dual-chip systems so my knowledge is purely theoretical. If he's confident that the right card is being used. There was, recently, a problem with the tool that was meant to switch the chipset in use which was causing the DAZ Bitrock installers to crash, even on systems that didn't really have two active adaptors. There is some discussion of the issue here and on the immediately preceding pages http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/322772/
Thank you for the reply. I am reading it has something to do with the Bitrock installer that may be causing the problem with my machine. Can't find a workaround or I just don't understand how to help my Tech fix it. Will make notes and give him a call.
Yes calling from the states to England would take up some major pocket money.
jestmart, I have had a whole new rebuild and it's still in the shop. He put in a new processor, two hard drives with 2T each since I clone/ghost and Windows 7, 64 bit. I talked with him and he is putting back in the new nVidia card which I don't know the exact specs. The old one was ATI, 1.1 and when I tried to open DAZ Studio the popup read I needed at least 1.3. Something is not clicking right as that was the second card he put in.
Since programs that I use are upgrading I needed a faster processor , more RAM which he gave me, and then of course a brand new card.
Here is what is in my machine. Radeon X800 XT with 3064 MB memory
Display is in 32 bit mode, don't understand that as I am running 64 bit Windows.
Just loaded my new poser pro and had no problems. Tried to open DAZ Studio again and I get the same error message that the graphics card isn't good enough.
Somewhere I have something off. Right now I am burned out.
it is not 32 bit mode it is 32 bit color depth.

The first thing to try is open device manager, locate the display device and do a check for updated drivers.

Installed Daz Studio 4.6.18 but when I try to run the program I get error 0xc000007b.
This was also the case with DS4.0.
Earlier versions 3 and lower have loaded and run, maybe not solid in every event, but they ran.
Anyone know why the 4.0 versions give me that error message?
Thanks,
