Subject: I'm back again with same old problem…Someone please help.

Ok I have V4 and M4 both with their Morphs ++ files. How do I get there respective morphs in the same runtime so they will work in poser. As of now they are in separate folders and will not work when I load them into poser. The bodies of each figure do not change and nothing happens. I'm using a mac...So in the M4 base library folder you have the idaz, character, materials, and pose folders. Which m4++ files do I put where to have them show up in poser as well as work in poser. Thanks Larry

I'm no help specifically with macs, but I had the same problem in win7 and pp2012/2014 and none of the suggestions I was getting from people in the forums worked for me. So what I did was create a separate runtime just for the Gen4 figures and their content, and I had the DAZ install manager install V4, M4 and all their morphs to that runtime. Then I linked that runtime to Poser. Since then everything has worked fine for me. I don't know if this will work for you but maybe it's worth a shot.

You don't move anything. !Daz holds specific material, the morphs are in the pose folder. Each has their own, Daz's Victoria 4, Daz's Michael 4. The files in the pose folder can be renamed, even moved, but don't move or rename the !Daz folder. They will be visible in Poser's Pose folder after installation. Don't forget, you MUST initialize V4 and M4 after installation or they won't work. BTW, you didn't say what version of Poser you have; what I said about moving folders applies to later versions (after Poser 8 I think). The 3 folders you mentioned all go in the Libraries folder of your runtime.

I'm using Poser pro 2014 on a mac…I have been adding my content with the add runtimes tab above my poser library. I have gotten all the morphs and base figures in the same folder but the morphforms dial doesn't show.  I've tried everything. I've initialized both figures a thousand times. Should they be in the actually Poser pro 2014 runtime folder? As of now they are in a separate folder in my applications.

I have separate runtimes for M4 and V4, AmbientShade seems to have one runtime for all Gen4 critters. You should see (for example) a Victoria 4.2 in the character folder of Poser... load that. Then go to the pose folder, look for the morphs folder, there should be an icon for Morphs++. Click on that. If V4 is initialized, the morphs should load at that point. They do NOT automatically appear, you have to load them into the figure. Done at a time when such things mattered with computing power... once you have a figure with the morphs installed, I suggest you save the figure back to your character folder.

To clarify, base and morph packages should be in the same runtime folder regardless where that runtime is located.  This means that it does not need to be in the main runtime as the Poser executable.  Once all the figures are initialized, and IIRC, DIM does that automatically but I wouldn't swear on it, follow through on piersyf's recommendation.  You need to load each particular package, or individual morphs, for the appropriate dials to become populated.  Otherwise, package dials will be present but the individual dials will not.  As posted, you can save back a fully loaded cr2 (bigger file).

a side note, the initialize adds the morph channels, it only finds the figures when they're in the default library, character, 'daz people' folder path.

after the initialize, then you can move mike and vicki around.

the old installers used to look for a poser.exe file, even if it was an empty file.

Poser installs two runtimes when you install it. One is in the application folder itself and the other is in the Content folder.  The content folder is where you want the morphs to  be. If you did a default install for Poser the content folder can be found in MacHD/Users/Shared/Poser Pro 2014 Content.

Ok I've gotten all the morphs for M4 to work. I just used the daz install manager as ambient shade suggested. I also initialized the figure in the runtime folder it was placed in. All figures and morphs are in the same runtime folder via daz install manager. But now when I click on the DzCreateExPFiles-V4.command for the v4 character I get a message like this.

file_013d407166ec4fa56eb1e1f8cbe183b9.pnI am unable to initialize v4 and access her morphs. Any one know how to fix this?

I have given up again trying to install daz figures into Poser. I did it again recently and Poser stopped working . I followed instructions from various people in this forum, but each time the terminology used was loose and not exactly what i encountered when doing the install, and so I had to improvise and screwed it all up. I had to delete Poser and start again. Now, I have various Poser and Daz files all over my computer now.

Do exactly what the warning box suggests, highlight the command file, go to file and open the Get Info menu.  Towards the bottom of the menu should be the listing of those with administrative privileges.  You may need to reset that to everyone or yourself.  Hopefully, you will be allowed to make those changes.  I don't own a MAC, but I have had to reset permissions on a work MAC using this method.

I couldn't figure out the problem with not having permission but I did get all the morphs to work. I used daz install manager to install all my m4 morphs then i manually installed all the v4 morphs. It took a while but I manually put all the files in the correct runtimes in a separate folder that daz install manager didn't have access to. The initializations worked for v4 and now all the morphs are working correctly. Some how daz install manager was making the file so I didn't have permission. But everything is working now. Thanks for all the help.

Excellent, I'm glad you were able to figure it out and have a fully functional V4.

Can't remember how to unlock permissions on a mac (it's been a while since I had one) but on the PC you right click on the application icon and select "run as administrator."

You can change the default install location in DIM by opening preferences (click the 'gear' icon) then go to the Installation tab click the + sign to add a new install path, you can select the default path and click - sign to delete it if you wish.  When installing from the Ready to Install tab make sure the Show Details box is check so that you will have the option to change install path (if you have more than one) before installing.
