I have the same version of DS installed and I cannot seem to reproduce what you are seeing, when I change the Node highlight to bounding box in the draw settings tab nothing highlights in orange or any other color when mousing with the universal tool selected. Could be some kind of glitch, is it still occurring after restart? Can you post a screenshot if it is still occurring please?
Sorry I can't make out a great deal from that screenshot. It's pretty low res. But it definitely is a green blob.
Does this effect occur on just a single surface or on the whole prop?
Is it all props and figures that do this, or just this particular item?
Is it all shader types such as Iray or 3DL shaders?
Do you have any errors in your log file when starting DS, you can access the log via Help/Troubleshooting/View Log file?
LaurieA: Glad someone else has the problem. I was starting to think it was only me, The problem is the flashing colour as the mouse moves drives me nuts.
Razor42: Sorry about the low res. I was unsure as to how big an image the post would accept.
The blob is several stone props ( bought from Daz 3D ) stacked to make a pile of rocks so that the green represents several different surfaces, although they all have the same material. It does not happen on all objects. I have noticed it on props I have made myself where it appears to be material related. It does not occur on the Genesis figures. The image above has the viewport set to texture shading. If I change it to Iray, the colour is initially there but vanishes once the viewport starts to render. The full render in Iray is OK. There are no errors in the log. Some warnings relating roaming directories and lots of Not initialised in the GL section.
I guess it's possible but probably not likely...lol.
A geometry shell is exactly that: a mesh shell of the object that, when created, is a copy of the object. Think of it like a transparent coating of the object that you can add any shader too. Like dirt on skin, pantyhose on a female figure, etc.
Hmm...wonder if it was related to the procedural shader I was using then? Oh well. Maybe I'll just try uninstalling and reinstalling DS. LOL.

I have just installed Daz 4.10,0,123 64 bit and as always I set the highlight style to bounding box, because I don't like the yellow areas flashing on and off when I move the cursor over the viewport. However, having made that section I still find that as I move the Universal tool over the view port objects are being highlighted in blue,green or purple. Is there any way I can stop this.
