How do I get rid, stop generation of the tiny rendered images along with the images I save?

Switch from Library to Folder.

Great, fighting the lighting right now as I can't see what I am wanting to render! image is flatish and too dark to see details . . . just now, in trying to find a fix for it, I ended up with ground and back ground when I want a transparent render . . . now got to fight that. Will switch to fold then and see if I can find that . . . LOL

Thank you

OK, confused . . . is this not the Folder?? Doesn't seem to be labled! LOL Sorry!

When you render, assuming you are rendering to a window, you have two lines under the image - the first is image name and type, the second is the library (default) or folder to save to - click the icon by the name and select the folder icon instead, then use a folder that isn't the render library folder for your saves.

I did this but the tiny images started again when I changed back to my first folder to save in . . . guess I could rename the folder, then the tiny imagrs wouldn't know where to go.

Yes, you have to save to a folder that isn't a Render Library directory.

I made the folder in my graphics folder to get away from the library images and they followed me; so there was a place where I could set the number of renders for the Render Library to 1, so I did that and made a sub folder to the other one nd changed the saving directory to that folder.

After un-installig and re-installing 3 times, I can't remember where I set it to 1 and they are back again. so am foinf to set the folder directory to someplace else and then just delete that folder and see if that works LOL Too many things I can't find, like how to shut off the background colors . . . brain is getting to old after.

Were the new folders added as Render Library Directories? If so they would get the thumbnails.

byheart ( ) posted Fri, 28 February 2020 at 3:49 PM

yes; need to be a way to just hut stuff off. Thank you again.

RHaseltine ( ) posted Sat, 29 February 2020 at 9:28 AM

You can't stop it from creating thumbnails for known image formats (even if they are not renders) in the render library folders - if you don't want that to happen you must use the option to save to a folder and place the images outside the Render Library.

Going to try to set the folder to Windows folder that gets emptied every day. You've been very kind and patient. Have a good day.

I have my Render Library folder set to a location that isn't used for images at all.
