Is there some form of tutorial explaining this process of conversion somewhere? I'd need to understand how it works to see if I could make such a tool.

I came across a tutorial @ ShareCG some time ago outlining the process using Dawn. However, Dawn is available in both DS and Poser forms while La Femme has no DS figure available. You would need to be able to import a fully functional La Femme figure to proceed with this process. I just tried looking for this tutorial and have not had any luck pinpointing where it's located. I have it buried somewhere on my computer or thumb drive, it's going to be tough finding it.

Out of curiosity, I did a google search for "How to make a clone for Genesis 8" and it lead me to some links on how to do it with V4. Others said the method worked all the way back to Aiko 3!
I imagine to do it, it would be best to start with Genesis because that actor is already in a T-pose.
I would then, possibly, import LaFemme1.obj into Daz Studio. Make a Genesis pose so it matches the joint centers of LaFemme.
Then I would export the posed Genesis as its own OBJ file, to see where It goes from there...

This is the method that I came across some time ago from 3dOutlaw creating a V4 Clone for Dawn. I checked on how feasible it is to bring La Femme into DAZStudio and it's quite easy, just import the Poser cr2 into DS. She's fully bendable and poseable. If you want to pose G8 from an A-pose to a T-pose, use this script I found on ShareCG:

Wow! I did not realize the La Femme CR2 would import into DS so easily... thanks for the links hborre, I'm going to check out that method as well.
Indeed. At this point, an experienced 3d modeler could export the posed G8F as an OBJ and import it into the sculpting software of their choice and refine it to match the surfaces of La Femme.
Then, they could export the aligned G8F mesh and use morph loader pro in DS to make a La Femme morph for a new Genesis 8 Female.
An individual could then, possibly, load G8F garments to see how they fit the morph shape.
Another thought might be to pose the La Femme figure to the A-pose of Genesis 8 Female. This time maybe in Poser? Better export a base resolution OBJ of G8F first.
It might work to Import the base resolution Genesis 8 Female OBJ into Poser, then load the La Femme figure from the library and pose it to match the joint centers of G8F?
In Poser, a user can use the Morph Brush to create a new morph for the OBJ geometry (shapes). This includes any exported shapes from DS.
The user could name that morph for the G8F shape something like "La Femme-Clone", for example. They would then use the morph brush settings of tighten and loosen to create a shape of the target goal:"LaFemme"
A more experienced 3d modeler might want to do this in an outside application of their preference.
It is feasible that a user could then export this new G8F with the La Femme body shape morph as an OBJ from Poser (or another application) while keeping in mind the difference in scaling between the software. For example:
DS>Poser = 0.410105% Poser>DS = 243.84%
In DS, one could then load and select G8F and use Morph Loader Pro to apply the new La Femme clone morph. It might look something like this.
I would imagine that both programs are needed for this process.
Also, I haven't read many complaints from Daz users who are unable to work with Poser stuff, but I have heard from many Poser users complaining about not being able to use Daz stuff...especially now that Poser 12 will be moving forward without a DSON importer.
Personally, I have recently purchased the SY Victoria 4 and Michael 4 body clones for Genesis 8 over at Daz for this exact purpose. To me It would seem prudent to have a way to use these assets outside of DS on a Poser native/flagship figure... all the rigging tools are waiting in Poser.
As a reminder, this is perhaps the first time that a workable La Femme has been imported into DS straight from Poser. I haven't seen anyone work a render on her or, at least, attempted to use her in DS. I do take some of the credit for steering the OP in this direction by actually importing LF into DS. I lit the flame, emjay247 stoked the fire.
I have enough Poser stuff actually. Things I don't have, characters, creatures, or clothes that I want I'll make myself or convert from another Poser native. I'm pretty handy with those kinds of things. I'll admit that some of those Genesis duds are pretty spiffy, so... if that's where this is leading well then my La Femme salutes you. Apologies for the interruption.
(Animated joint centers on this tongue morph here, fully poseable. Textures mine, morphs and expression mine)
Exporting OBJ shapes of the La Femme fitted clothes, hair and accessories from DS would be pretty easy. There is a Poser preset!
If the users DAZ library is linked to their Poser library, it's even better because the textures for the OBJs will be easier to locate on import.
Here is what the imported OBJs might look like rendered in Superfly with some tweaking of the transparency maps in the material room.
The G8F Bardot Outfit (dForce Essentials) and French Twist Hair by Zoro_d for G8F fitted to La Femme in Poser.
Genesis 3 undergarments and hair might look something like this auto-fitted to a La Femme body morph/clone shape for G8F in DS and ready for export into Poser. These items and textures come with Genesis 3, at one time for free, provided from Daz3d.
I imagine thay would look pretty good and need very little adjustment to the La Femme shape.
Nothing hard about making clones, I've been doing it since DS4.0, you just need a functioning brain and to be willing to use it.
I'm also the person that did the first V4 to Dawn clone and showed it off over at Hivewire, but as we weren't allowed to distibute DAZ shapes, it meant I couldn't give it to anyone, so I created a tutorial over at Hivewire on how to do it, even included a pose to make it easier for everyone else.
3doutlaw copied it (with my permission), which was probably just as well as Hivewire got hacked and lost everything on the forums.

Has anyone created or is anyone working on a La Femme clone for Genesis 8 in Daz Studio?
I have been using the Victoria 4 and Dawn clones on G8F to convert free Genesis 1-8 clothing in DS to a T-pose fitted for those figures. The items geometry can then be exported from DS and imported and rigged to work in Poser.
A La Femme clone would be helpful for this same process and might entice some Daz users with previous vested interest in Genesis items to give Poser a try. A Lhomme clone for G8M would be the next logical extension.
Thanks for your knowledge advance!
