Thank you but I am by no way able to model anything, unfortunately. The set is "Modern Apartment - Kitchen".Nice kitchen scene. May I ask where you found it, or did you create it from scratch?
I also like the lighting. It looks soft and natural.

Great lighting but I'd repose her arms. Very unnatural looking. The arm holding the wine glass should be closer to her body (the shoulder part) and the other arm seems to be leaning on something that isn't there. Just suggestions.

Ok.... I ignored that I still have a running version of Poser6 lol... And it's apparently "portable" because I swear it it's actually in a totally different folder of the day I installed it.
And just for the fun, I've been able to setup a Vic3 character called Kaleigh, from a long time ago disappeared vendor: 3DSublime Productions, with two dynamic clothes.
It's been really fun to use eFrontier's Poser6 but wow... Poser12 has made a very long path till then, and it has an incomparably higher comfort of use. But still a surprise: with Poser6, when you have to scroll through one of those infinite list of items (of the famous and so hated menu options list kind), Poser6 is more than twice as fast as Poser12

Just a simple render, only lighting is an old RDNA free skydome, and one of the cloudy textures for it. Thought it lit pretty well.
One of DM's "About Time" scenes, V4 with "Philosophers Egg - Lepus with white rabbit texture" and White Rabbit outfit. Also replaced the glass on the clocks with one of Ghostship's glass shaders, and moved the back clock face texture into the alternate diffuse so it would be lit and show.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?
I have been toying with ideas of how to integrate different lighting techniques into scene renders that would not overtask my system but also eliminate unwanted fireflies and noise using Superfly Cycles. It has also dawned on me that 'correct' lighting can be achieved by using the Blackbody node rather than tinting the node attribute with mixed RGB colors. Currently, I am building a moon-lit scene with a textured ball prop as the moon. But relying on mesh lighting alone can cause noise, especially at very high intensities for a nighttime scene. My solution, combine a low emission for the prop, a point light, and whatever fill lights with matching Kelvin temperatures. The actual moonlight is approximately 2200 degrees Kelvin which is rather warm but our own eyes compensate towards blue because of atmospheric filtering. I'm posting 2 test renders of a full moon with 2 entirely different lighting conditions. I would like your opinion on which looks best.
I don't know for other countries but in Switzerland, the moon looks exactly like in the second picture, which gives me a natural preference for it, even though I do like the first as well.

In the northern US, the moon looks like the first one when it's close to the horizon, though it might be a little more orange. It looks like the second, when it gets higher. The first is good for fall/Halloween images. The other for other night images. I might turn up the emissions on the moons just a touch. But that might fall into the artistic license category
I've used blackbody in poser for a while and I'm not sure it's settings are accurate compared to real life. I often find the images are too orange.

Blackbody uses Kelvin temperature to determine color, the lower the temperature, the warmer the color. So, if you want to emulate a candle flame, use a temperature between 1000 and 1900 degrees. Sunset/sunrise use 3000 to 3600. Even though this feature is beneficial with the emission node for mesh light, it really has enormous potential when connected to an actual light. If you light an outdoor scene, use the Blackbody node with the Infinite light to enhance and tint the lighting with a more corrective emission value than just guessing the color.
Not sure I'm using it correctly yet but appreciating the adaptive option in the render engine. Normally set low clamp levels to avoid long render times but now use much higher levels - first time I've got the HDRI reflected in the eyes. Thanks devs :)
Woah... splendid

Thanks hborre, it's details like the pupils I always miss and they break the immersion.A wonderful render, a nice touch with the soft lighting. The only thing that bothers me is the extremely dilated pupils for this lighting condition. Otherwise, the color palette is spot on.
much appreciated Y-Phil
It's always the little details that many artists miss when posing figures. Another example is bare toes and feet, the placement and posing never look like those extremities appear to show any weight on them. No toe spreads, no arches, no sole flattening of the feet when making contact with surfaces, etc.
Nice. I'm curious if anyone has used Colorramp with the Principles BSDF hair shader.
Material shader setup for the Flip-Flop metallic car paint. A simple arrangement.

Yes: on the right, it's Apollo Maximus 2007 + a morph to make it looks more or less like Vin diesel. Note that the trousers are the only cloth I have for this character... lol.
Even though I rather rarely render men, it's cool to work with. I know that some artists explain that it's still an excellent character (40720 polys , 42500 verts)
And on the left, it's 3DSublimeProduciton's Dollz Trimbel, ported to Sasha-19 (the 2019 upgrade of Sasha-16)

Ha ha... Stupid me lol.... I've so many morphologies for my Sasha's (350+ I thinkl) that when I checked what I have form 3DSublimeProduction I discover this beauty, never used up to this day
I have Maurelle for LF1, but I won't show her yet, as I still haven't found the right setting with my material setup for LF1. It works for LF2 (typically with Afrodite Ohki's gems) but not for the 1st version...

A character I'm making for Dawn, while I wait for Dawn 2. Was originally a character I made for LF. Not a realistic character. A stylized doll-like character.
In the process of learning, I found (and filed) a bug in Blender (3.x RC, OBJ export - poly/vert groups not maintained correctly). I wrote a blender add-on that makes proper unimeshes of Poser exported morphed OBJs. It does its magic in a split second. Great for going back and forth when developing characters :)
I actually made a bunch of facial morphs that can be combined (and i did) to make the final character. The epicanthic fold is carefully tuned. It works perfectly with eye movement and open close, wince, etc. Does not interfere with lashes. This is version 4 of the character, which was about making the face look good with the Dawn facial expression morphs. I never like the "rictus" look when characters smile. Expressions are becoming my playground :D
Dawn (the version that comes with Poser). Alex character (mine). OOT hair (La Femme version, actually). Skin shader is a BB idea from another thread here. Physical Surface Root. Uses only the texture and some simple math for everything (SSS, Specular, Bump). Texture is WWAsia. I made a cornea morph so that it covered only the iris and i could apply a liquid shader with correct IOR. Teeth are a porcelain shader (tuned for them).
This is my "learn Blender 2.9 sculpting" project. Turned out to also be my "how to write an add-on for Blender" project. :). After I play with it a bit, I'll release it. It's useful.
Poser 12 on Mac. Superfly (obviously). High SSS: ~ 45min. Lighting EZDome 1.7. Plus one mesh fill which you can see reflected in her eyes :)
I came across a Bed & Breakfast bedroom set created by Shredder at ShareCG and I couldn't resist giving it a Poser Cycle's makeover. It proved challenging because all the object components were modeled in one large set and I didn't want to go through the hassle of disassembling it just for a render. I replaced the original shaders with either procedural material or updated for Superfly. Point lights were inserted into 2 table lamps and modified to emit Blackbody incandescent lighting. Built-in overhead mesh lamps were modified to emit a similarly inverse square Blackbody mesh lighting. An HDRI was thrown into the background for outdoor lighting, accompanied by an Infinite light as the Sun emitted Blackbody light at 5500 degrees Kelvin. I applied Post Effects to clean up the noise after rendering. The Polka Dot shader is my creation.
He he.... I've immediately thought to your fantastic polka dot shader....
Very well done, and I love those challenges.

After long absence, I go back to art. I had the big honor to play with Ghostship's new hair Shader system. What can I say, amazing. Even on complex hair like from biscuits Evi hair. No matter what hair I used, the results was always fantastic. Really a huge time and nerve safer. Character is Charise from tempesta

@ghostship2 Thanks, it is just a simple portrait, I am anyway not a portrait artist, but your shader are really fantastique .
Fortunately, I have now again time and inspiration back, was last year a bit busy and the holidays I spent in the hospital. Had a stupid accident which put me 3 weeks in the hospital and at home I still needed more than a month to get back on track.
While out with my dog, I slipped out on Ice and snow and fall 30 m down the cliff, was unpleasant LOL

So... here we are poor Poser users, trying to do our best with our beloved program, fighting with the light and those transmapped hairs when all of a sudden, God-Ship2 comes down toward us, from his foreign planet, saying with a little smirk:

One thing I did not say in my documentation but was implied is that you can use your own texture maps or the ones that come with the hair if you like those better. There aren't any rules. Maps by Biscuits or OutOfTouch are pretty good without much highlights or shadows to deal with. Another option would be to add a HSV node after the map to change colors.

Composition-wise, this is a well-balanced image. The dark background separates the subject and brings it forward in the scene, making her the focal point. The blue outfit casually complements the grays and the browns. There is red fruit, chairs framing the subject leading your eyes to her red hair and tattoos. Very subtle but you can't help notice it. I love the yellow cups, it's that sudden splash of color that captures you.
