Turns out I can get a pretty decent machine knit simulation by rotating and stretching a twill and adding another bump that pushes down the areas between the "ribs" a bit. Which, to be honest, is pretty similar to what I did for my earlier procedural knit texture.

Here's an approximation of a ribbed jersey knit:

That works amazingly well. Let me join the group of people urging you to find a way to share these fabrics (or at least some of them...)

Oh, I'll share, don't worry. I'll just need a little more play time before I'm ready to.

Denim, jersey and flannel - best fabrics forever! :-)

I've got a pretty nice collection of fabrics now, so it might not be too long until I can pack them up into a freebie.

It's almost Christmas, it's been 10 days since I started Poser again after a 7 month break, I'll be very happy to play with all these textures.

I have followed all your work from afar and as has already been said, it is of high quality, but certainly of great complexity of crossed knots!

Thanks in advance.

Well, well, it looks like someone has gathered 10 fabric samples and produced a promo image...

Hmm, looks like the FreeStuff item is now available. Back to your regular scheduled LF2 outfits (at least until I decide to tackle brocades and other complex weaves).

Sweet, you are so generous! One quick question: is there a way to change the colors?

It's all described in the readme file. In the material room, find the node that's plugged into the "Base Color" channel of the "Principled BSDF". That usually has all the colors listed, except for the flannel which has another node in between. Just play with the colors and see what happens. If there are any problems, let me know.

Maybe I'll create a separate thread in an appropriate forum with more details on the materials and how to do all kinds of extra trickery with the compound nodes I made for them.

Duh, I should have known you documented this thoroughly--found it and thank you again! A separate thread may be good.

Oops, I just realized I made an error in the readme file. For a smaller textile one would usually want to use a smaller thread count a.k.a. scale because the same real world surface area typically will take up a larger portion of the UV plane. D'oh!
