Subject: Need a solution for UV mapping Angelyna-wings!!

Hello Everybody!! I'm trying to make a new UV map for the great Angelyna wings (with Steve Cox's UV Mapper) but I can't select each feather separately (either with select by group or select by material). I also tried to select by vertex but I've got points of other feathers selected. Have you a solution? Thanks

I too would like a better UV map with the feathers separated. I started doing it in Lightwave, where I have no problem selecting single feathers, but it's slow going, because I am trying to put the same sized feathers on top of each other to save space on the map. The model is heavy in UV mode for my system. Although just separating the feather would be easier, I could give it a go that way if you can wait a few days.

I wanted to do the same thing !!!! I'm new with Rhino3D and I still don't know how to do it (If it's possible). I also wanted to group the feathers in a way that the wings keep natural. Even if it need some resizing or rotation (very ambitious!!). I will be glad to help you (if you know how!).

I also have to figure out how to give the new uv map LEGALLY, ie.: encrypting the file or something.

To give out the new map you save the uvs in UV Mapper along with your new mapped model then give out only the uvs and template or texture then others can create their own using the uvs file and UV Mapper and the original wings which they must have to use it.

Try using the grouping tool. (This won't solve the distribution problem and the posability of the model may be compromised). Create a new group for each feather and assign it a new material. Now export as an obj and you will be able to select each feather in UV mapper. :)

To dominique B: objaction Mover could be a solution to give an encrypted OBJ. To decrypt it I must have the original one. To Lovelylady: I don't know how to mix an UVS with an existing objet, I'm going to try. To hogwarden, in poser, I can't select each feather: the body parts are group of feathers, is there a solution?
