I still say Cuervo the Carver! Especially with those bladelike things on his helmet...

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

Tilandra ( ) posted Sun, 21 April 2002 at 11:01 AM

I vote for "Shooter", which is a spin-off of "shott" but just sounds better to me. Although too obvious. Then of course there is "Alexander" which is a derivative of Brandy Alexander, but who on earth would mix tequila with chocolate milk? Then there is "Lime" because we all know how well those two go together... and how deadly. :) "Salt" is a spin-off of that, but "Lime" sounds better... maybe he's British? Tilandra

Tilandra ( ) posted Sun, 21 April 2002 at 11:03 AM

Damn, I had a [g] mark after that last sentence so my friends east of the pond would know I wasn't trying to be insulting. HTML ate it I think. Tilandra

TriTeq ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 3:45 PM

Oooooers, love the figures! And I just have to post some entries to this contest since I love words and I live in the desert region that grow the Agaves that produce Tequila. * Mexcalmetl (a play on max kill plus metal) The native name of the variety of plants that produce Tequila and Mezcal. Mexcalmetl and Tequila has an interesting ring to it. * Maguey Another name for Agave, which is the common name of the succulents that Tequila comes from. I'm not as crazy about this name either.

Clissold ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 3:48 PM

Dr X, master of eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil

Clissold ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 3:51 PM

Mr E (joke)

TriTeq ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 3:51 PM

Another one- * Pulque (pronounced pool KAY and a drink with a fascinating history) This was the drink before tequila became popular, and is still drunk today, but doesn't have the popularity that Tequila has (kinda like Michael isn't as popular as Vicky ;). Fermented from the same Agaves that Tequila comes from, this drink is believed to be over 2,000 years old. The myth and history of this drink is fascinating. "The pulque gods wore a half moon made of bone in their nose and their faces were painted black and red representing the light and dark side of the lunarscape and reflected their status as lunar beings." Representing "a star" that died and was reborn daily (the moon) explains why the gods represented life and death in nature. I read this shortly after seeing your male figure, and it seemed to fit. Or at least worthy of mentioning here. Pulque was used by royalty and priests to celebrate great victory and "was served as a ritual intoxicant presumably to increase the priest's enthusiasm over the imminent sacrifice and to ease the sacrifants impending demise." Sacrifice?! Woah, back up there. Then light and dark side of the moon? Death and daily rebirth? All adds to an interesting namesake. Woah, okay this is a long enough post. I'll stop my long-windedness.

TriTeq ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 4:52 PM

A few others-- * Aztec, Aztecan, Azteq. * Aztech, Aztecnician (keeps with combined Mexican culture plus corporate theme laugh). * Cortes or Cortez (for the Spanish explorer that conquered the Aztec empire). * Tecate * Peyote, Mescaline. Both hallucinogens from the desert. * Hemlock, Arsenic.

TriTeq ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 4:59 PM

And finally -- * Liquate, an anagram of Tequila. Also Liquidate, Liquator, Liquidator. Liquate means to "cause a more fusible substance to separate out of a combination or mixture by applying heat, as it in liquate lead from its ore." * Quilate, another anagram; translates as carat from Spanish. It's not as sexy as Liquate. * Black Wasp I'm done for the day. :)

Cin- ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 9:39 PM

sigh I can't think of any good names... can't you just name him "Cin- Wins"? :) Well it would make ME happy... Okay, I'll shut up now.

TriTeq ( ) posted Tue, 23 April 2002 at 3:43 PM

And still more entries for today-- * Ouzo, a colorless Greek anise-flavored liquor, frequently done as shots. A play on "uzi" * Metaxa, a famouse Greek brandy. I like the sound of the name, as in they "met axe" * El Diablo, the devil in Spanish. * Amontillado, as in "The Cask of Amontillado" from the Edgar Allen Poe story. And a drink recipe-- T.K.O. 1/3 oz Tequila 1/3 oz Ouzo 1/3 oz Kahlua Pour into shotglass, shoot, enjoy. :) I've not tried this.

Opps! My deepest appologies to CaffeineGuy. I gave Clissold thanks for the recipies when it was actually CaffeineGuy! I am very sorry for this :( Also, I think TriTeq deserves mention for recipies as well. Some of the names given were very good and choosing was very difficult. Cheers to all who helped out!
