Thread: Say goodbye P6 Hello Daz Studio!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Since starting this thread their have been alot of views being made here. Some contraversial!
I have been looking at forum threads at Daz3d and their seems to be alot planned for DS which will rival P6 and its predecessors.
I will continue to use P6 and P5 as well as use DS until I see what developments they have planned for DS.
I have also tried doing animation is DS and its very simple and its great. Daz have indicated they will be releasing a plugin or update for DS soon that will be as good as P6.
DS seems to be more stable than P6 when rendering large scenes of more than 5 human figures and over 20 props including hair and clothing.
Their will be a variety of plugins currently planned some available for free and some for a reasonable cost. We will have to wait and see...
With regard to P7,Curiouslab/E-frontiers have always been upgrading the old P4 engine and always promising to rebuild the Poser from start. They never did! I will only belive it when I see it!
Thread: Say goodbye P6 Hello Daz Studio!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Aeikema I am a heavy user and used Poser from P3 to P6.
I have complained like many others both to Curiouslabs/E-Frontiers and placed forum message explaining the problems I have encounter in P6 which were not prevelant to a degree from the previous versions.
However, I appreiciate you have not had any problems with Poser and therfore you are inclined to change, everone I accepts uses Poser/Studio is tailored to their own need.
I also know from reading the forums both here and at Daz3d their have been issues with Studio, which are being resolved or have alreasy been resolved.
While experimenting with Studio I have managed to render a scene with more than 4 full textured figures with over 20 props including clothing (eg V3 and M3) and rendered them in Studio whereas in P6 this failed repeatedly.
I have also noticed that Studio tend to use P5 runtime as I have 2 runtimes one for P6 and the other for P5 which are identicle in every way.
Thread: help plz | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Run the Victoria exe file. It will then try to locate you poser runtime library. Once its found that it will install V3. To use Victoria 3 character select figure on the right menu panel in Poser locate a folder called Daz People and select. The folder will open revealing the contents. Select Victoria 3...below is a tick symbol click that. Victoria 3 will then load into the main window
Thread: Problems with Firefly Render in P5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have had similar problems like the one you have mentioned and possible cause i have found is the prop and texture may be corrupted. I suggest that you load systematically each prop or charcter and then render the scene each time till you find the render stops as you have mentioned above. This will diagnose what is at fault.
Thread: Attention Clothing Merchants: Create Morphable Trousers for M3/D3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The pants around the feet is by Geralday but specifically for P4 male not Daz M3/D3.
Starkdog my attempts have also failed and Dynamic clothing would be interesting but I have found problems trying that way. I would prefer to use conforming clothes that I can better manage the animation the way I need to. I will IM Jim Burton on this.
I still will offer anyone that is can do this for as a project for me and anyone else that wants this.
Thread: Poser 6 is slow and hesitant--any suggestions? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Prior to SR1 release a number users have been complaining including myself about various problems encountered using P6. Its sounds like your P6 is trying to read P4 reference data and this may be corrupted my suggestion is that you may need to uninstall your Poser and then delete any reference file that refers to P4 then reinstall P6. If you still continue to experience problems then you may need to consider to ditch your runtime directory and start again from scratch.
Personally I found since I installed the SR1 patch that P6 is slower but more responsive when it comes to rendering complex scenes, however a number of community users here have complained about other issues with P6 SR1

Thread: Poser 6 keeps locking up when I render a scene production quality. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Possible reason for the lock up while rendering if that is the problem I have found is a corrupted prop and texture map. To diagnose if this is the problem is to load each chartacter one at a time and the render it each time. I found this has helped me diagnose similar situations as to why Poser locks up while rendering.
If you experiencing this as a persistant problem you may need to ditch your excisting runtime library and re-install each item one at a time.
Thread: P6 SR1 updater is available now | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Efrontiers/CL technical support did inform me that the current SR1 would resolve immediate problems faced by users.
Their will be subsequent updates to resolve a number inculding newier issues that have arisen.
However I suspect that Efrontier/CL will have to totally create a entire new version for the next generation of Poser by creating a new Poser engine that faciliates the current and future technologies.
Not as before amending the orginal Poser engine frame work from P3 to P6.
Thread: P6 SR1 updater is available now | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I checked my P6 with Sr1 update and its great my images are better than with P5. P6 seems to handle complicated scenes than before. I will keep checking it. So far I am glad with the current results. Thank you to e-frontiers/CL

Thread: This render is taking forever! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I read your post b4 and did not respond. Poser 4 has crashed! I recall when I had P4 this used to happen when I tried to create complex scene using certain types of props. I suggest when creating a scene in P4 keep rendering and saving every time you add a prop and or a character to ensure the render process does not exceed 3 minutes. I have found from experience if renders take in access of 4 minutes Poser has crashed. Despite information been given by others and Tech support.
