Thanks everyone I think I got it now.
I do have one question. It gets a little tedious if you have multiple magnets. So is there a way to have multiple zones associated with just one magnet so I can have them all have the same settings?
Thanks

Thanks Shane dude! ? I just want to know is that a solid prop or rig? And are the magnet zones intersecting.This isn't perfect, but magnets can go a long way for this sort of thing, especially if the focus is more for cinematic type scenes rather than trying to have a perfectly functioning rig.
For this i setup a series of magnets rotated opposite directions and have the snake pass through the zones.

Thanks, but I already knew about all of this. I just thought that might be an easier way,

Main thing I always wanted to get improved was the animation panel.
I animate for various companies now including medical companies.

As a program mainly used to setup scenes, it would be great to have some kind of Boolean operations on objects: imagine you kind of "dig" an object using another one (or add tops: kind of mixing two things), be it using the morph tool or using the material setting. Bryce use to have this, and it was fun to dispose of such a tool.
A kind of Morph tool on steroids, with not only a simple more or less blurred circle but any shape, any 3D object.
You can actually use the Boolean operations Feature imposer via the octane rendering engine plug-in. If you're interested in better renders.

Thread: List file and collect scene inventory not showing model/geometry locations | Forum: Poser 13
Thanks for the reply. But all the props are imported obj files.Some props don't have obj files associated with them. The geometry is embedded in the prop file. It's likely that's the case. If you open the pp2 file in a txt editor and you see something like this the geometry is embedded.
If you need the obj, you'll need to export it from a scene or use a geometry stripper to extract the geometry.

Something that might help you in some way: Poser has an old hidden option called altGeom (alternate geometry), google it. There is a blog that wrote about this: https://brian-the-techie.blogspot.com/2017/03/its-poser-all-right.html
I've used this successfully a few times. For example in my product "Fire Portal for Poser", this is how it switches between what I called different "volume resolutions".

Thanks It helped a little.I'm clearly not geek enough for what concerns the inner details of Poser, that's something I'd like to learn one day, but: could this article help you?

Hi thanks for your reply. But this will not work for the situation I'm talking about.Take a look at the Dependencies Editor - the Poser manual should explain this better. :)
I want the scale/dial to trigger within close proximity of a model/figure.
So if I move the square to a new location. And I move the sphere closer to the new location of the square I would like a dial to trigger. When it gets a certain distance to the square.

ThanksYou can only do it with figures, you do not have that option with props.

Thanks,Here's a 'most simple' script to zero the rotations on the currently selected/active prop or figure, which may be of use.
# Zero the rotation of the currently selected prop or figure in Poser. Works in P11 or P12.import poserscene = poser.Scene()actor = scene.CurrentActor()actor.ParameterByCode(poser.kParmCodeXROT).SetValue(0.0)actor.ParameterByCode(poser.kParmCodeYROT).SetValue(0.0)actor.ParameterByCode(poser.kParmCodeZROT).SetValue(0.0)# Redraw the OpenGL Preview viewport in Poser, so we can see what's been done.scene.DrawAll()
Also, here's a code that I came up with. To set X Tran to 1.
How can I alter this code to change the transitions +1 unit every time I activate this script?
Thanks
import poser
scene.CurrentActor().ParameterByCode(poser.kParmCodeXTRAN).SetValue(1)
scene.DrawAll()

That doesn't make any sense. This is a poser figure. That I got from the store somewhere. The figure name is 50fordtruck.
The direct manipulation tool is selecting the door when it's really big. When I select the wheel or anything else it looks small or like standard size.

Thread: Transfer / Import Cameras motion into Poser | Forum: Poser 12
Uncanny_Film posted at 3:50 PM Tue, 21 February 2023 - #2977542
I came up with a weird trick that works (almost) perfectly getting camera animation from Blender to Poser while experimenting with virtual cams.
Basically we need to make a couple things to trick the apps into letting us use mocap data. I imagine this can also work for fbx, but I used bvh.1. in Blender create a new armeture with 1 bone and name it "hip".
2. add a bone constraint to it and set the target to the camera. You should see the bone snap to the cam.
3. export a bvh file. (bvh files need to at least have a bone for it to work)
4. In Poser I made a prop (which is missing now, but that's not important) and gave it a group named "hip" then in Setup Room gave it a single bone (hip). I created this to be a single bone "figure" called CamFig. (make sure to add it to your library for future)
5. The magic: Select CamFig, set the Dolly Cam as child of the 'hip' then import the bvh file onto CamFig.
Its a bit of a work-around, but was successful. The one issue I had was for some reason the Animation needed to be rotated 90 degrees on the X axis for the cam to look the in the correct direction (not rotate the hip bone as this would mess up the animation). But once you get it right, you can bake all of the keys on the camera and then unparent it by dragging it back to UNIVERSE in the Hierarchy Editor. the camera will retain all of the animation data.
Thanks, Shane. Got to love all these workarounds. LOL
