Thread: Where have so many Poser Free Stuff uploads gone? | Forum: Community Center
Anthony, By way of clarification. I removed the files that all my free stuff downloads pointed to. This effectively removes my material from this site. That the links are 404 is Edgenet's problem. Far be it for me to make their lives easier by deleting the entire record. My interest in doing that is equal to the interest they have shown toward JJE Graphics. Copies of all the downloads can be found at the PropsGuild (when they return). Once the dust settles I'll resubmit them to another site. Although JJE Graphics remains a member of Edgenet's Renderosity, we have removed, and will no longer supply, art or downloads to this site. A more complete explanation of my companies position will be made available to interested parties when the next installment of Hat Check Kelly is published (about 2 weeks). At the same time we also will be publishing information important to everyone who has had elements included as part of the story(figures, geometry, etc etc).Until then, the above explanation will have to suffice. Sorry I haven't been more forthcoming sooner but I'm under a severe self-imposed deadline. Youse guys is still aces wit'me! jje

Ugh the dread reinstall option. But you are right CB. It would be the next reasonable solution to try. Right in the middle of a newe creative burst too. sigh Then again there are only about 5 new poses with this character to do, albeit critical ones. Lucky for me this is a long weekend. I'll try to do it then. jje
Thread: HUH!?! - Wierd camera behavior | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well I finally got to test everything last night and the results were not good. Using the latest patch d'loaded from CL, I updated my (mac) Poser 4. The same weird behavior still exhibited itself. Why moving a camera (or a body part) would cause a clothing element to rescale/shift is beyond me. However there is a good workaround that I locked down. Simply make the offending clothing piece invisible for the duration of your posing session. Only make it visible when you want to see how all the elements work together but invisible it again right after. Somehow with the object invisible its geometry doesnt get affected by moving cameras or moving body parts. Please note that (at least on a Mac) repeatedly making an object visible and invisible will generate the annoying "some textures cannot be loaded" error. Therefore when you are happy with your pose. SAVE IT FIRST, restart Poser and everything will then render correctly. That little bug strikes me as some sort of memory leak. If pressed I would bet that the whole moving geometry problem has something to do with how the imported pose was created rather than some hidden bug in Poser. Wouldn't know the first place to look in the pose code to confirm this tho. So does this work-around help with PCs? jje
Thread: Bryce 4.1 released! | Forum: Community Center
The following is a news article from AppleLinks and I posted the press release about Adobe here yesterday. Just do a search. Enjoy jje Corel Corporation has announced that Bryce 4 users can now update their world-famous terrain-generation and animation software to version 4.1. A free download of Bryce 4.1 is now available at: http://www.corel.com/support/downloads/index.htm This upgrade demonstrates Corel's commitment to developing and furthering the impressive capabilities of Bryce 4 for its dedicated graphic artists, designers, animators, Web designers and game developers. As well as enhancements to existing features, Bryce 4.1 will have new features that give a taste of what's to come in Bryce 5, scheduled for release early next year. "We are delivering on our promise to release a free update for Bryce by the end of the summer and reaffirming our commitment to Mac users," said Ian LeGrow, vice-president, creative products at Corel Corporation. "It's one of many updates and upgrades planned for our new graphics product lines - Bryce, KPT, KPT Vector Effects and Corel Painter. These are truly cutting-edge applications which have a loyal following of creative graphics professionals worldwide. We are thrilled to offer our users additional support for their creative efforts." Enhancements in version 4.1 include the following new mapping modes: Sinusoidal, World Front, World Side, World Cubic and Object Cubic. In addition, game developers will benefit from the new Microsoft X (DirectX 3D) file import and export support. A brand new feature added to Bryce 4.1 is the Custom Starfield Map. Until now, the starfields in Bryce were only randomly generated. Now a Custom Starfield Map can be used, which represents the stars visible from earth. "Bryce provides a creative experience that is rewarding to both novice and power user," said Susan A. Kitchens, co-author of the upcoming book, Real World Bryce 4. "I think it touches something primal in we humans: the software and a computer give us the ability to make landscapes that echo the environment that is home to our species. To see mountains and sky and water emerge on a computer screen is nothing short of magic." Since Corel's acquisition of Bryce, KPT, KPT Vector Effects and Corel Painter last spring, the company has already released one update to Corel Painter. A beta preview of the Corel Painter 6.1 update will be available for existing Corel Painter and MetaCreations Painter users in the coming weeks.

Thread: What really happens to all of the files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Doug just take a look at my credits page to see where a lot of the stuff I download ends up ( "a lot" = +- 20% of the total mess). In my next installment I'll nearly double the size of that page. I'm using a lot of pre rolled characters as extras in a nightclub scene and I have a 12 piece (dork-o-rama) band. Plus which there is a glaring omission on that page that my conscience wont let me alone about. I tend nowadays to just grab the stuff I need (or think I will be needing). Funny thing is every time I offer to hand out the things I end up making (original poses, lighting setups, and meshes like the patio in the latest installment) I get deafining silence. Fact is (like it or not) (understand it or not) I would not be able to churn out HCK:FLA with such "regularity" if it wasn't for the work this silent, open, world-wide co-development team has done for me. jje
