Thread: City Skylines and buildings | Forum: The MarketPlace Wishing Well
30 day sounds like fun but they always disable the best part. EXPORT!
I have some of Stonemasons models, they are excellent for foreground work. I've started modeling in Daz Studio of all things. Buildings are harder than they look. You're not just making boxes, you've still got to make something that looks realistic and proportionate to the things around it.
Love the Einstein quote btw.

Not a problem, thank you none-the-less; and I did see this right here

the link takes me to a bunch of demos. Are you talking about Dytopia? I should have mentioned I was looking for contemporary models, not futuristic. However thank you for the link, I appreciate the heads up. :-)
Thread: advise required re changing daz / bryce /poser from a windows pc to a mac compu | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I have VMWare for the Mac and I use Boot Camp. neither of these applications comes with Windows, and VMWare is not really "seamless" If you have a license and a CD of windows XP SP2 or Vista you can install in on the Mac.
If you use Boot Camp you can not copy from one drive to another, you can however copy to a jump drive or USB drive, burn a CD, ect. and bring it back between the Mac OS and Windows.
VMWare will let you copy between desktops but the Mac runs slower as it's running two OS's at the same time.
I have VMWare booting to my Boot Camp partition, but I have run into issues with the drivers for the video that I don't have when I boot into windows with Boot Camp.
*Why would you run windows on a Mac? *
There are software packages I use for both 3D and 2D that do not exist for the Mac.
.exe installers wont run on the mac.
If you're running an Intel Mac and you use a program that was not compiled for universal it and you have the PC version it will run faster on the PC version (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite 2) you may only run into this on legacy software but it occasionally happens.
You can rub it in your friends faces that your Mac will run circles around their Dell's and HP's running Windows and in addition to Windows you actually have a real OS that was not designed by a bunch of programmers hamfisting (Man, I gotta' use that word more often!) what Apple had elegantly perfected..
You want to have a partition on your mac that can get wiped out by a Virus but will not affect your Mac partition. (Yes, Mac's running windows are susceptible to virus on the windows partition, run AVGFree)

Thanks everyone! I love it when you find a forum on the web that is actually a real community.

9MBi,
I appreciate very much your getting back to me and rectifying this situation. If anyone knows how to edit my first post so I can restate that the problem has been remedied by the vendor I would be indebted.
9MBi; once again; thank you.

Quote - I am not sure who your ISP is, but I know I had to fight with Comcast to stop Blacklisting my own domain email to myself. Turns out Comcast and several other ISPs have a new policy on SPAM. They are blocking it at the Mail Server Level, so if another user of my Domain Hosting Service is a Spammer, I also get blocked. The only way I found out about it is I email a report to my Comcast email from my Domain monthly and my Domain email got the notification of refusal with real complicated instructions to get off the list.
Several friends of mine work for a major corporation. Their email also was blocked, so their company did a little tit for tat and blocked all Comcast email at its Mail Servers. Makes contacting them a pain, when at work.
(This form of Filtering does not Filter based on email address, but on Mail routing locations.)
I am sure some have had issues and this may not be the case, but I for one am always willing to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. As well as another chance.
Maybe the Vendor will see this and contact you and the Renderosity Forum Coordinator and get you both straight.
I'm using gmail, my work ISP and my home ISP are different, neither one is Comcast.
Thread: Buyer beware (9MBi) - Problem Remedied | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I need to ask this just a "spose?" Have you checked your spam filters? Sometimes legitimate emails get caught by the client or server spam filters... has to do with the originating server domains and even unrelated links to or from that domain. I have had client royalty reports and stuff like that 'disappear' for such reasons. Could be... this guy has always bent over backwards to fix me up even when the share coming to him/her was a pitance.
Second place I did check was the spam filter and his gmail account still sends me a page of wares every other day.
But emails I sent and the message system here have not been responded to.

Then for whatever reason I am being singled out by this vendor, even when renderosity tries to contact then on my behalf.
I presented no hostility to them, I purchased an item in good faith and was ignored there after,

I was unaware of the posting policy.
But yes I have tried the two emails that I have from the vendor. Also the two last site mail I have sent the vendor shows as unread, they are well over a month old.
Thread: Daz Studio and Windows 7 - Does it work? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Windows 7 is a beta, so it might work now then not later, or vice-versa. Its all dependent on drivers. I know Vista could be frustrating for Studio users due to the inconstant development of drivers, this is a beta OS, it could be far worse.
Then again if you wish to go where no renderer has gone before let us know. I'm staying with XP until I hear otherwise.
Thread: The search funcion in the Market Place is horrible | Forum: Suggestion Box
Quote - It's not entirely wrong what you said. The search function is not very pleasing and hardly ever delivers what is searched for.
As for the advertising / product page issue... If I am to pay more than 5 Dollars I ashould have 5 minutes available to really look at the product, haven't I? The world is not without peril and in WalMart you have to read the product description as well if you do not want to buy E 605.My five cents.
If I buy a gadget without batteries it generally says; "Batteires Not Included"
Thread: Baby Doll Halter? Anyone know where I can find one? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks both of you.
Acadia, I tried the MFD, and came close, but it gave me the idea to try a skirt/tube top combo and trying to spruce it up with MT's.
Thread: How do you organize your runtime? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mine used to look like a hefty bag filled with giant squids, (now that's what the back of my guitar rig looks like)
now it looks like this:
FIGURES
M3
V3
V3 Characters
V3 Clothing
V3 Shoes
V3 Go-Go Boots
etc.
POSE
M3
V3
V3 Poses
V3 Textures
V3 Character MAT
V3 Funky Disco Momma Texture and Morph Targets
etc.
PROPS
MISC Naughty Bits
SCENES Inside my spleen
SCENES Inside someone elses spleen
VEHICLES Cars I could never afford in real life
etc.
there is also a script for Daz|Studio if you use it (I do) that will find everything you are looking for everywhere in your runtime called "Finder", don't know if there is anything like that for Poser.
the less expensive way is to open your Poser folder, get to your runtime and right click and go to "search" and it will look only in "runtime" or wherever you select it, I think I switched back to PC once I found you could do that and not have spotlight writing live files all over my HD during my OS X sessions.
