Well, she's not quite as pretty as I thought she would be. Now, if someone made the Toxic costume, I'd buy that.

Ah ha! It was the same guy that slammed me last night!!!! I posted a pic in Poser gallery called "The Lips Couch". This is what I got out of him. See... now this is a nice idea, a little eroticism a little thought! poorly concieved! poorly created! but none the less with a little work and a lot more thought this could be a work of art! And worth the $1000 + paid for the software. He must have been on a tear last night!

Thread: Thumbs in the Poser Gallery -- what is this idiocy?!? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was going to comment last night on this thread but I was just too tired. I saw these thumbs before going to the gallery last night and on first recognized that one of the thumbs had to be for a new Vali picture. I know her style right off. At which point, I just could not figure out why you would be knocking down on an artist of her calibre. Her images are always just incredible. Another image turned out to be Lesthat, who again, is an excellent artist. I do have my filter set so that I can view and see nude thumbs. I have no problem with nudity whatsoever, and nudity does NOT EQUAL porn. I, fortunately, was raised to see the beauty in both male and female forms. And I do admit there is far, far fewer male nudes here in the galleries. I have no children, single, and work at home, so that's why I have my filter set as it is. I do respect that others have different home and work situations so I do use that tab when uploading an image that I've done that contains nudity and try to even put that in parenthasis beside the title. I know that some other artists don't always go do these things when uploading. As for getting hits by a thumbnail like that....we are sexual creatures not matter how some deny it and yes, sex sells. It doesn't always get me to click on an image however. A thumbnail is a teaser to encourage viewing of the whole image. And even though sex sells, it doesn't always get someone to view your image. This issue is the same as the old Washington Wives during the 80's trying to kill Metal.....the answer is, if you don't like it, don't look at it. If you don't like the music on a radio station, or the political content, then that's what the dial nob is for. Change the channel. I was just very sad to see that you would single out several of the really excellent artists for this thread. Liz

Thread: i had a sword in poser, how can i attach this props to a hand????? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is always a bit of a time consuming task. I am always very pleased when I download a sword that is already a 'smart prop'. Have you female in the Default pose. The hand that you wish to grip the sword needs to be rotated so that the palm faces the floor. Load your sword prop into the scene. You will then have to use the parameter dials to move the sword and position it so that the handle of the sword is right up against the palm of the female's hand, then if you do not have a hand pose that already is for grasping an object, you will have to manually make the hand and fingers grasp the sword's hilt (handle). Now select the sword and double click and a dialogue box will appear. You'll want Set Parent. When you click that, it will give you a long selection of the various body parts of the femeale. Search through the list for the hand of the figure you've manueavued the sword to (usually the right hand). When you find it, double click the name. The dialogue boxes then disappear and the sword is now Parented to the hand of the figure. It is a good idea then, to reselect the sword and save it back to your prop library. One of the questions asked then by the program is "This prop has a parent. Save as smart prop?" Click yes. This means next time you wish to use the sword, it will automatically go to the hand you parented it to and save you the time of doing this all over again. Liz

I actually see little pixilization in the images you have here. The tips give above are all excellent ones. I've been saving in tiff format for three years now after discovering that jpg is a 'lossy' format, and I reserve that for the posted image only. There are some other tricks to improve the initial image, to get the most out of the Poser program to begin with. One is rendering at a higher dpi (dots per inch) than the default 72 dpi found in both P4 and P5. This does make a difference in smoother figure outlines and preserving texture appearance. In P4, I typically rendered at 300 dpi. With P5 and Firefly, I use 150 dpi. Also the settings on your shadows in your lights section can make a vast difference in quality of the final product. Most lights you'll find will be set with the shadow map being 256. I typically use 1024, 2000, or 3000 for the shadow map. These sizes, particularly with Firefire will take quite a while to render. I suggest checking out the lighting tutorials by geep. Liz

I followed them all! You always give me a giggle. I still fondly remember your "Topless Dancer" animation. That was a gas, and I still think of it sometimes. Liz

Thread: How long do your renders take ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had one that was 5 and a half hours long, but that was because I used black glass for floor, walls, and on the girl's costume. I've got a Dell laptop, one gig of memory, and the equivalent of a 2.8 Ghz processor. Sometimes you can reduce render time without effect to your render by turning of the smoothing function in Firefly's Production rendering. Liz

Thread: Library menu question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
P5 has Library quirk. There seems to be a limit on how many pose files within a folder it can display before it has a kaniption and shows all the poses as Mr. Shruggers. Its annoying little quirk and the reason why I use P4 for compsiting and P5 for the Mats and rendering. Liz wink, wave Yo, geep!

Thread: Will the new policies affect free stuff items ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Khrys, grin interesting post. My mother once did a geneology of the family and it appears that in the early 1800's, a distant relation of our listed 18 sons (didn't bother to list daughters), and another ancestor listed 24 children and he was a doctor. To the topic, if this policy extends to the galleries, I think there will be a revolt. Or there should be one. I have done few nudes (a few male nudes not posted), however, as it is now, the option is open to me if I feel like doing a nude study or pinup. Art censorship is always a bad sign. Liz
