Thread: Daz Millennium Muscle Maps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I got an e-mail too. Very intrigueing indeed as I have been musing on the Stephanie and M2 maps for quite a time. But then I wonder how these maps can be anatomically correct if none of the unimesh characters is anatomically correct on the shoulder joint. Even with an arm hanging loosley against the body there is no real place for a deltoid and pectoralis major. No map can change this. So postwork will be inevitable.

Fully agree with Xurge. Looks great indeed. Looks like there are indeed a lot of polys involved...

Thread: Poser 5 Render "Hangs" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
dpi (in fact ppi, pixels per inch) has no effect at all on anything here. It only tells that, when printed, each inch will have 300 pixels. Or 72 and be a bit more than four times larges than at 300ppi). What counts is the file size. 1600x1200 is not large. I have rendered 4500x6000 pixels. When you're having trouble here: 1/ check for spyware 2/ see that all is closed that is not needed. 3/ run defrag 4/ get more ram. Poser renders horrendously slow, so you may think it has frozen, but it hasn't. Just take care when your uter goes into sleep mode as this can influence things.

Thread: Not just 1 runtime :-) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You may want to put the characters (V3, M3, SP, Aiko,...) in the basic runtime folder. And the other runtimes not in the Poser5 folder but somewhere in a folder on your root (like C:Runtimes) In here you create subfolders for, say, V3, Architecture, Animals,... In each of these you must have a folder called Runtime and in this the structure you find in Poser (libraries etc). To install Daz inems: double click on the exe file. Then when it indicates it starts a search (takes forever), click cancel. A window opens and you can then browse to where you want the item to be installed. Example: the Morphing Fantasy Dress into C:RuntimesV3Clothes . You may also want to have one runtime folder for experiments and freestuff you collect. Instead of trying to get rid of unwanted items, you simply delete this little runtime. Last remark: too many runtimes add to the confusion. (left eyes, right eyes, bump maps, lips, shoes, cats, dogs,...)

And another one: very important would be the ability to widen the pelvis.

Me again. Looking closely at the mesh, I have the impression that the calves are too high. There is an alternating rhythm in a body, and more in women than in men. If you permit, I can download your image and draw on it to explain what I mean.

We have not been poser users for a long time. I never liked the predictability of the Daz' figures (we did buy characters that were as far off from the standard as possible, prefereably with artist's own morphs). But, up to now, there was no other choice really. By coincidence I found your name (we like the clothes you created) associated with a new character. Luckily I saw your uploaded work, and it looks like this will be it. A few remarks, if permitted, and not meant as critique, far from that: 1/ The shoulder joint looks better. It is an incredible difficult morphing zone -all muscles except for where the clavicle joints the sternum- but what will it do with arm raised, arm backwards (scapulae) etc etc? Here you can win an important battle. 2/ Being a painter, I love the anatomical proportions prof. Richer taught. It would be great if there were some way to get real body-proportions instead of simply enlarging the head, but not the length of the legs etc etc. 3/ Eyes cannot be realistic unless there is a lens fixed to the eyeball and an upper eyelid that deforms where the lens bulges. I don't know whether this would be possible... 4/ Another battle you can win is the mouth. 5/ Thinking about the future and more versatility towards other progs: did you consider creating a version with a better joints' system than Poser's (ClaudeBonet maps, softbody,...)? Future versons of Poser will certainly move in that direction also. These are not questions for you to answer. Just some thoughts that enter my mind. If this character keeps on evolving like it is now, count us in.

Thread: Daz and Poser... what's the story? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At the moment CuriousLabs released the long expected Poser5, many people were complaining as it was buggy etc. Because P5 got tons of negative critique, Daz must have feared that CL would have to stop, which is why they started their own app, Daz Studio. Many people were very enthusiastic, but meanwhile Poser5 got a number of erial pack updates and runs perfectly. Daz Studio is, afaik, no real match (yet) for Poser. When CL joined Shade, Daz bought Bryce from Corel. Now you can get V3 and M3 for free (basic meshes). Most probably, the new Poser will come with quite good characters, made with Shade. So better get a good grip on the market. This said: V3 and M3 are very complex and versatile meshes. Somehow Daz got a reputation of being the Microsoft of Poer vendors. It must be quite annoying for them. So, to answer your question: they are neither good guys nor bad guys. They are a company that sells a lot of good stuff like many others, and their main goal is getting your money in their pockets. That's called: doing business.
