I do agree the poser render did come out very good. except for the shadows. Thanks for the links.. i will cehck them out... wow! there is so much to learn.. one thing i did learn is that by applying the pricnaples of radiosity with in poser... by using multiple light with carying intesities.. simulating how light bounces... you can do a very good job.. just with poser.. I bought light wave.. thinking my renders would improve dramaitlcy over night.. of coarce that's not true.. before you can make lightwaxve or be it any program work well.. you have to understand a bit about physics and how light bounces... so my advice is... don't spend hundreds of dollars like i did thiunking you're renders will improve over night.. they won't.. you can achieve excellent results with poser... learn how works... I think my next purchase will probabbly be a book...not a priece of software. Nick

Stunning, I think you did an execellent job, My only comments would have been to add some sound effects, walking, breathing, swords clashing...etc. sound is 50% of any film... Good luck on your next one
Thread: I'm about to rip walk designer out by the roots! | Forum: Poser Technical
Just a dumb question, but what figure type are you using in walk designer.. Hopefully not the deafualt poser 4 male.. I had simalar problems at first. Now I just load the Vicky 2 cr2 as the figure type. It's not 100% but very close to it. better than what it used to be... Nick
Thread: Rendering hi-res movies in poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just go to animation setup, make the animation 800 x 600, 24 fps, then render. and choose full frames uncompressed. That will definitely give you high res.. If your system can't keep up with it try a lower res... ex 640 x 480 with some compression... but leave the quality close to 100%. Nick
Thread: The need for speed... 512meg Vs 1024meg | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the good advice, every little bit helps.. I just wonder if 10 years from now, when I'm rendering on Poser 9 on my P9 12000Mhz system, will I still be complaining that things aren't fast enough? Knowing myself chances are, I will. I'm sure I'll still be posting on renderosity trying to figure out how I can squeeze the last MHz out of what ever system I'll be on then. I do look forward to 10 years from now.. Just imagine the power we'll have at our fingertips.. But I guess for now I'll manage and dream a little. Thanks again Nick

Interesting... I thought if the operating system supported dual CPUs (XP professional) then poser wouldn't care or know the difference.. the operating systems would just share the load between both CPUs. Because getting dual CPUs is not that expensive if you do it yourself.. The athlon xp 1300 can't be more than $175... I shouldn't complain but I do.. I always seem to find new ways to push my system.. complex renders are quite fast, 30 seconds (1280x960 shadows, bump) is not bad at all... But now I'm working on animations..at 640x480.. 24fms..a ten second clip... now that's 240 frames.. 20 - 30 minutes.. to render. Too long!!! Nick
