*You see to me that isn't an extreme test, I have done scenes that have 2 or 300 million polys in easily in pre-release especially if you start doing eco-systems with some of the more poly hungry plants and stuff, but then with so many different variations who knows what is going on. My system is similar to yours with 2 Gig RAM and a 3.4 GHz processor but I'm running on XP home!

Which built number is the best then? Is this 288792 (my first one) better? Or did i miss the good one without any chances of getting it? Well so far i didnt have many problems, one crash on a boolean operation, but i already had these in vue 4...

Thread: Vue 6 Final Update | Forum: Vue
I'm always getting confused with the versions...
I had bought Vue 6 Esprit (not easel, infinite, super-dooper or wahtever) pre-release about 3 weeks ago and downloaded it. I got built 288792 and was generally quite happy with it. Now i got the final release notice in my email and downloaded the new version. I now got built 289779. Yet i didnt have any problems, but i have to admit that i did NOT import any poser stuff at all (A shame, got Poser 5, wasnt cheap and I dont use it) so far.
As an extreme test i made a scene with 3 million polygons and over 11.000 objects. I dont know how many polygons your ship models have, but for my computer 3 million polygons is when it starts getting real slow (2 GB ram, 3 Ghz windows Vista 32). From what i fell regarding speed it might be a bit slower, but thats probably not objective, its just feeling, i cant tell it in numbers of system resources or so.
My question: Are we all talking about the same build numbers, or do i only have "bad" built versions? Are these problems only affecting infinite or is that for all versions? Are the built numbers the same for all versions (easel, esprit, infinite, etc)? I have the botanica, ecosystem and lighting module - are these also affected by the update? Or will there be separate "module updates" for esprit users?

I just got a note from e-on that the final version is now available for download, i should go to my order page and download it. Actually it doesnt say final there, but i download it again right now, is this a newer version now or what? I am using Esprit 6 Built 288792. Isnt that already final? The download is still taking so long. :/

Thread: Question about my Bryce freebie items, re, use in Vue | Forum: Vue
Dont add them to the vue section unless its really vue objects. We already got plenty of 3ds models and similar that are often announced as "vue" objects what they definitely arent. I'd pledge for uploading Bryce objects as Bryce objects.

Quote - I love Vue,
But I have to agree their communication TO the user can NOT be worse.
I decided to purchase the Botanica plugin. The transaction screen told me that the Plugin could not be downloaded and gave me a ship date.
What was I to think? A ship date...can't be downloaded.
I waited...patiently for almost five weeks before I dropped an email to support.
All I had to do it seems was dig out my installation disk...look in the modules folder,,,run the proper modules program and plug in the serial number.
SIMPLE?
Well yes....**but why wasnt I told that from the git go instead of "Cannot be downloaded....item shipped"????
**
Â
Ha! I had exactly the same problem, but it only took me some hours browsing Eon FAQs and stuff until i realized "they were already there". Would be nice if they would have put a sentence like "You find the modules on your vue installation CD" in the email with the serials.

Yes, you can always choose which computer renders what.Â
I also keep my workstation free from rendering as when vue renders i can barely do anything else.

Havent yet had any contact with the tech support, but its sad to see old-school members like Lyne getting disappointed. I really have much respect for Lyne.
I hope its just kinda temporary problem, after all its still a pre-release version and i can understand that they try to keep their technicans out of such cases to make sure they can concentrate on the newer versions/updates.
Why they want the pz3 files i can only guess. Maybe its a problem with importing these into vue, then i can understand that they want to have them so they can reproduce the error. Its most often essential to reproduce an error to be able to understand what causes it. As I am a programmer myself, i know that you often rely on such stuff, just getting info like "it dun work" is useless for troubleshooting.
I can just hope that in future updates like Vue 6.10 or so it will be "near perfect" which it yet obviously isnt.

Thread: Final version of Vue.. and the usual PARANOIA!!! | Forum: Vue
Yeah, i know what you mean. I have recently bought a new computer running Windows Vista. I tried to start vue 4 from my old HDD and it asks for the Vue 3 serial (was an upgrade) again. Awwww, hope i find it still somewhere...  Yet i only found my Vue 4 book (containing the vue 4 serial). I should have noted it down in the vue 4 book, its too large to get lost. ;)

No, its already some months ago, Im not sure which version it was, but it was NO beta version, so I was kinda disappointed... Maybe Ill bug Chris to apply all updates and well try again once more, but at the moment I just dont have the time... Now, that would finally be worth 400 bucks for me, if that damned feature finally worked...

For me it would easily be worth the money if I could export my scenes to 3ds or others... I had already some folks asking me about it, but vue is and stays just vue...

Thread: Opinions on Vue 4 Pro | Forum: Vue
I dunno, for very small objects made from primitives it worked I must admit, but for scene exporting I got dozens of errors and nothing or just crap was the result... I tried with many of my scenes, all self-made and none of them containing poser elements and absolutely no "external" objects, no 3ds objects, nothing... Just vue and my self-made textures... I tried about 4 or 5 scenes and I got many errors, but no result... We agreed to stop trying... To say at least something positive: Poser 5 import works good - the figures look just great... He doesnt have Mover 5, so we didnt try poser animation, but I heard it also works good...

Thread: vue 4 grainy animations how do you stop this ??? | Forum: Vue
Oh, yeah I must admit I use Vue 4.2 and I always render every single frame as a "normal" .bmp - probably just a bad habit from "Animatek Worldbuilder" times, I just like to have more control about the output...
