I don't konw if this has been noticed yet. Yesterday I accidentially placed the cursor on the borderline of the hierarchy editor, clicked and pulled away - and this window resized! That wold mean no more "keyhole surgery" for many of us! Willy

BTW, in Poser 5 the hierarchy editor window can be enlarged and reduced just like any other window - by simply placing the cursor on a borderline, waiting a tad and pulling away. Willy

This one is a little bit clumsy :-) It is best not to take a look too close, as for example there are no shadows from the lamp shade (I turned it off within the spotlight). This would have meant quite a bit more tinkering with more spotlights to get it right. So a candle light would have been a better example. I'm happy you found it nice. Willy

I made up a simple table-top lamp from some Poser primitives (cylinders, a ball) using Dr. Geep's "1-2-3-method". The whole lighting effect is achieved with one spotlight positioned somewhere above the lamp, looking down, end-angle about 160 degrees and parented to the lamp. The "shiny" look of the bulb and the shade comes from a good tad of ambient coloring. Willy

Yes, I agree, the water texture is great! ...but, um, the water color is a tad wrong ;-) Water in Venice is a distinct dark green (more or less )! AFAIK, the only way to "break out" a body part from a figure (as an example) is to export it as a wavefront.obj-file and re-import it. It is a separate prop then. Willy PS: I tried to do it in the hierarchy editor, but it doesn't move the body part from its location.

Pheeew! I'm glad you see it this way, dialyn! :-) Kendra, the hedgehog also has hair with modified with settings (root width, IIRC) which can be seen by the "triangular" look of the spikes. BTW, this is an easy way to give the spikes a more dense look, as there ar not so many of them (ca. 200-300). Willy PS: I confess, I was not in the Poser since weeks ago. But I'm planning an astronomical observatory. Buildings and all. Especially the distinct domes they use for the big guns (=telescopes ;-) are a little tricky. I have a dome with the slit and a moveable cover made in the way Dr.Geep taught us in his tutorials (cutting primitives into the needed form and making obj-files of them). See the picture above. If (and when) it's ready, it will be my first freebie here.

Aaargh! Now I notice.... Please, folks, don't be angry with me because I hijacked this thread. I was just taken away by Kendra's beautiful tutorial. Her water flowing from the cliff and around the rocks is awesome! I think, the hair room is one of CL's greatest feats, comparable to the material room. Ok, that's my opinion :-) Willy

At first position the hose mouth aiming down. Then you'll have to use the first facets _inside_ of the hose or faucet. Grow some hair on them and "pull" them down. Stylize it and test render. There are numerous application of these thingies, not only as hair or gras. Just for fun, I made a hedgehog :-)
