Forgive my confusion but I'm not quite sure I understand the reasoning on this one... What do the DAZ figures have to do with what version of Poser to use?
Â
what i find really confusing.... In my experience DAZ is one of the last people/groups/companies, to incorporate the new features of poser.
Don't get me wrong, the brokered merchants frequently add new features, but DAZ itself is slow to update.
My experience has been very different, DAZ is trying to be thorough with all their products, releasing new models and supporting updated versions of software constantly. The reality is they appear to do it a lot more than Poser with a lot more products (I could be wrong). I've had no problems with DAZ, in fact they've been really helpful and cool and actually listen and try to rectify issues quickly.

Well sorta' free
The release will consist of the Dynamic Clothing PlayerTM plugin (included within DAZStudio 2.0 for free), and the Dynamic Clothing ControlTM plugin (available for $49.95) which will provide an extended set of controls over cloth panel properties, wind, and gravity. A dynamic clothing creation tool, the Dynamic Clothing DesignerTM, is also in development and will be released later this summer.
Thread: Is poser held to a higher standard? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It is to Poser (even more so to DAZ|Studio) that the 3d community often turns their respective noses at what we do (even though we could do the same with a morph injection)
But some in the 3d community often attack each others work on far more complicated 3d packages who have done incredible work simply from jealousy. I've seen incredible work on raph3d in Maya or Lightwave only to scroll down and read some response that is totally unwarranted. Artists are funny people. That being said; for the most part this echelon of the 3d community is treated as second class citizens (if we're lucky) by most 3D "Artists"
Thread: HELP ME!!! D|S crashes with moderately sized files (...sob...) | Forum: DAZ|Studio
One other thing that was crashing my renderings are reflective surfaces with reflection maps, not all the time; but fairly common.
You may try and remove them and see if the renderings don't hesitste/crash as much unless you are using them.
Also 3GB, in standard windows D|S is maxing at 2GB and wont see past it until there is a 64bit version of Studio for 64 bit windows.
Thread: Your Say: D/Studio or Poser | Forum: DAZ|Studio
If I could spawn MT's in D|S then I would be 100% D|S instead of ivroy soap (99.97% D|S and .03% poser) and I used to be 100% poser.
Thread: Is Daz Studio Still Crashy? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
It's getting better with each incarnation and the group seems to pay attention to the bug reports and follows up when possible.
Thread: Daz is pretty expensive? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
If only you could download D|S with base content for free, then download additional content from Renderosity for free, but that's just not going to happen, is it?
How much more FREE can it possibly get!?!?!

Yea, Poser does that to me once in a while. Come to think of it, so does Photoshop, Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Firefox and Mac OS X Panther, oh and Tiger too. Come to think of it pretty much every piece of software I have ever run since my Atari 400 has crashed, and almost never when I had not spent hours doing something. Thats why "Save" is always two clicks away.
Thread: Any suggestions on a new PC? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, and Oilscum, I own three Macs (PBG3, iBookG4, MDD G4x2), I love Macs, I fix macs, however the good one is at my office and all my installers are .exe's and I'm not a fan of VPC, from what I understand the bang for the buck is with AMD, but now the two posts between are going Intel!

Thanks to you all, I usualy keep adjusting the figure until it "fonzies" out and corrects itself.

I'm not near my design PC to post image. Can I turn that off in Daz? (I render dramatic stuff I guess) Thanks for the quick response.
Thread: Poser and Runtime | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Reinstall poser, let's say poser 4 on D D:/Program Files/Poser 4 Move your Geometries,Faces,Poses,Hands,Lighting, and various injection folders into D:/Program Files/Poser 4/Runtime I think there is a figure file in there that you can leave. Make sure your running the excutable app from D and not from C See if that works. I have poser on C: H: and I: (If I loose my Runtimes I would be in a world of hurt.) good luck.
