I'm confused. I know that site is for online courses. However, there is nothing there pretaining to Poser 5 that I can see. I think I checked that site last year and asked about Poser 5 tutorials but they weren't offering them. And I don't see Poser listed at all in the menu. Besides, I'm off work right now and unfortunately my budge doesn't allow me to join a pay to use site.

The render is gorgeous. The mixture of light and shadows is well balanced and pleasing to the eye; at least to mine. "Who" is the character? If you don't want to post it here, I understand, but maybe you can PM me?

Hmmm, does whatever this is, work in Poser 5? If so can someone provide a link to the tutorial or some instructions here, with a bit more information on when to use it? I'm still having trouble getting some things to fit like shoes... ugh. Maybe this is the answer that I need to be able to put shoes/boots on characters?

Thread: Looking for a character add on for M3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Duh! I bought the M3 HyperReal a month or 2 ago, and totally forgot about it. I've added the other suggestions to my wishlist which is growing really long. I'm like a kid in a candy store, LOL. My wants far excede my monthly poser budget (needs to win the lottery). Byrdie, I've looked at Raven but he looks too "pretty". The Movie Men just made my wishlist too! Impressive likenesses.. the Captain Jack Sparrow definitely caught my eye :)

Thread: "why I hate downloading orders" thread moved... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think the thread was perfectly on topic for poser. If you read it, he's thinking of buying Poser 6, and is concerned that it's going to require internet hookup to install and run. From what I understand Poser 5 upon start up looks for an internet connection in order to verify the registration of the product. I think he has a perfectly legitimate beef about that. I don't like programs that "check" my system and send information over the net. I rid my computer of spyware on a daily basis to avoid that, and now some companies take carte blanche and make it a requirement of their products. According to that moved thread, CL removed that feature from Poser 6. So I don't see why that thread was considered "OT" and moved to a forum OT to Poser. Why someone brought up p2p is a mystery to me. CL sells a download version of Poser. I bought my Poser 5 from CL; it was the download version. Most companies now offer a downloadable version of their software, which is often a bit cheaper to buy than the boxed version. However, I found the download version of Poser 5 very confusing to install and had to seek help from CL. I've reinstalled it several times since I bought it, the most recent time yesterday, and I still have to follow my "recipe" step by step for installation.

Thread: Looking for a character add on for M3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
" you can search by character sets and textures specifically for M3" Oh? I didn't know that. This site is so big that I haven't figured it all out yet. I'll give that a try :) Thanks.

There are sooooo many artists to comb through. I'm slowly making my way through their stores. I checked out "Russel" and you're right. He looks like what I had in mind. Thanks :) I added him to my wish list and will get him at the end of the month. If anyone has any other suggestions, please add them.

" OT-how did you get your windows to look like that?" It's Windows XP, and View ----> List. It's my preference as well. More files viewable on screen than with icons or thumbnails.

Cliff Bowman has an excellent tutorial for Multiple Runtimes there. He has also answered numerous questions on the method. Note: Ignore my stupidity in there, LOL I couldn't grasp the concept :)"It is good to see ourselves as

Thread: Tubes attack... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can identify some of your unknowns yourself. Using Paint Shop Pro, open the tubed image, then use the Eraser set at 100% opacity, 100% density, 100% hardness, size about 80 (You want to cover a large area). Then hold down the right mouse button and move your cursor around the background of the tube and the background magically appears. Look for the artists signature and magnify it a little if necessary to read it.

Thread: Question on Lights | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Page 158 and following of the Poser5 manual."
I read the manual. It's not newbie friendly, and it's a lesson in frustration and higher math. Plus it leaps all over the place and throws you into probably the hardest thing to do, the hair room to make hair, in the very first lesson. My eyes crossed when they started to talk about sine and cosine... I mean sheeesh...all I'm interested in is working the program, not building one, hehe
I'll check out the manual again and see if it makes anymore sense now that I've had some actual hands on experience doing stuff.

Thread: Constructing a Poser Scene ... Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"You'll have more control over your background if you bring in a single-sided square, turn it up on it's side, scale it up, and map your background image to it. You can move the "image" to where you need it then, make it bigger (or smaller), etc." I think I can manage what thefixer said, but mapping a background to a square sounds way too advanced. I'll keep it in mind though for when I have a better idea about what I'm doing with those. I'm up to learning how to do lights :) Then I'll play more with posing. I'd like to try putting something onto a background, but my creativity is at an all time low these days and I seem to have a major creativity block which is partly why I've been sticking to making tubes. One more question. What is the difference between an "environment" and a "background" in poser?

Thread: Constructing a Poser Scene ... Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Me again, hehe ducks How do you get a background into the poser scene without resorting to PSP or Photoshop? I haven't tried that yet because I've been so befuddled with the basics. I haven't put backgrounds of any kinds to anything I've managed to do. I just make "tubes" (I know bad word here).
