Im not sure what happens to the files. They are user prefs files for saving your personal preferences of the defaults...mine is set to load up a blank scene with an enviroshere and my own light set. When you throw out those files, Poser just makes new default files and places them in their proper folders. All your settings go away bt you can save new ones so it's no big deal. The end result inmy case is that the library becomes fast again. give it three months and it will be back to the same old slow library.

I dont have them set to re-open. My runtime is only 17gig.
Poser 8 had the same problem with the ever longer library load. Any time I had to throw away the prefs/Ui files to fix a bug the library would become snappy again. This time was the app update (PPro2014) that threw away those files and created new ones. Snappy library loads. I just figured everybody had the same problem with that.

sorry if this has been posted before.
I just updated to Pro 2014 v 10.0.3.26510
Now when I double click on a dial the dial name is highlighted instead of the parameter setting. This makes doing a bunch of quick edits with the number pad a painfull task.
I'm also curious about library load times...over time (days, weeks, months) the library takes longer and longer to load. Why is this? What can be done to fix this without having to throw out the prefs/UI files?

thanks
well it was a stupid question after all! I took another look at the mat files and there was a blinn node plugged into alt defuse that was doing some real funny stuff.

Thread: z-depth anti aliasing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - There's a very good Python script at RDNA called "Advanced Render Settings" by Semideu. It produces a ZDepth render which is far superior to the native Poser one in that it is antialiased and can also handle transparent texture maps. The ZDepth render is in fact only one tiny aspect of this plugin, it will revolutionise the way you use Poser - get it, you won't be disapointed and if you make a lot of use of ZDepth renders it's indispensible. I use it every day, the best $19.99 I ever spent for my CG work.
That sounds great! I will check it out. Thank you!

Quote - I charge the z-depth map as selection in PS (copy z-depth map , go to the image layer , select quick mask mode and paste ) and then perfected the edge as I desire ("Refine Edge" I think it's the command in English) , works perfect for me
Sounds good.Ill lok into that too. I'm using CS5

messing with post filter size didn't work. So What I did was doubled the render size and lowered all the render settings. 5 min render and the z-depth map is a lot cleaner. bring it into photoshop and reduce its size and much better result!

Quote - I may be wrong.. I've been too busy to get the SR downloaded and installed. But I dont think the eye fix loads by default, it needs to be dialed in. The reason being that using non-fixed textures with the fixed eye can look pretty bad. The actual Dial for it may have OOT in the name.. not sure, perhaps someone who has the release version of the SR installed can point to the exact location and name
or read the readme... I havent had the time to do that either :P
I could have missed something but I checked both for a morph injection and found none in the pose folder. I then loaded the starter morphs and base morphs. no dials from either of these on the L or R eyeballs.

Quote - Did you just redownload the files? If you did they aren't the updated ones. You have to add DawnSR1 to your cart in the store and checkout to get the new files.
Yes I added SR1 to my cart and downloaded that.
I am having better results with figure skinning set to Poser Unimesh and setting her subdivision level set to 1 for rendering. but otherwise looks like no change at all with SR1.

could not see any UV morph fix pose file in Hivewire3d/Dawn/morphs. Not sure how this morph is implemented.

I just downloaded and installed SR1. Opened Zip and did a copy/replace old files . Still same problem with Dawn's eyes unless I did something wrong when installing the new files.

Quote - I was very glad to see the eye fix. It was the one thing that I really wanted to see fixed.
Yep! that was the reason I did not use Dawn at all. could not get the eyes to look real at all with the way they were modeled and maped.

I haven't downloaded it yet but no info was given that anything was actualy updated other than they added some new texture maps.
