You know ? great rendering times are extra : sometimes I use volumetrics and ultra rendering option just for the sake of doing something else rather than rotting in front of my computer, something useful you know like eating a real meal or seing friends...;))Good luck!

Don' take it wrong, I'm not sure I was clear, you need to try uncheck antialias ONLY for the materials ( in the mat editor )of the objects you need sharper.. if you do for the whole pict in the render options, the volumetrics will certainly be grainy ... good luck!

Yes I prefer it that way, try stretching the vol material in the X or Y axis it might give an sheet effect to the fog. Yon can try to uncheck antialising in the mat editors of the mats you don' want to loose details on... one of the drawbacks (with time consuming) of volumetrics is that it needs better quality processing thus blurring tiny details. Hope that helps. cheers Paul
Thread: How do I put a bump map .jpg onto a terrain | Forum: Vue
Yes as said SAMS3D and wabe you do just that and then put some general thermal erosion on it (you terrain should at least be 512 x 512 ) Then maybe, you'll have to reduce the Z dimension of the terrain once imported in the scene...(I should have used the term 'elevation map' instead of Bumpmap pardon me ) Hope you manage cause I am impatient to see your pict.
Thread: Uncle! How do you import a b/w .pic into Vue? | Forum: Vue
my 'two cents' : maybe you can simply map the pict on an alpha plane, or even a box flattened on the x or y axis, might be easier to center the pict. cheers
