Would it be possible to see the rest of the 12 months? I'd like to see who the rest of the digital models are, so even a reduced image with with the word "sample" is fine.
I entered my "Tabby" character in the Miss Digital World contest, so it would be very cool to see if she made it into the calendar.
If she did, do you give discounts for bulk orders? :-)

Thread: any modelers do free work here?(props) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
These ships are from "Robotech", specifically, the first series, "The Macross Saga". This was a great anime series that focused on characters and a storyline... rather than on selling toys (like Transformers, He-Man, G.I.Joe, etc).
If you're going to make a transforming SDF-1, it helps to have either the Robotech DVD's or a plastic model or the comic book series.
We purists could also get into an argument about what the "correct" version is: should it be the green "organic" ship that crash-landed on Earth in the first episode, should it be the version without the "battleship" and "aircraft carrier" arms (seen in the first few episodes) or should it be the version with the arms.

Thread: P7 Bug List - Feel Free to add to this. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are we sure the Delete key doesn't work?
Keep in mind that Poser 7 stores every action in its "undo" buffer. If the object is large enough, it will seem like Poser is "hanging" as it tries to remove the object.
Has anyone actually done any kind of testing to see what effect this buffer has on Poser's speed? Will Poser start to slow down significantly if you've deleted multiple V4 figures (for example) while working on your scene?

pakled- you have the basic shape correct, but it's flying upside down! ;) Don't forget the "aircraft crarrier" left arm and "battleship" right arm. Check out the attached Google Image link for more shots of the SDF-1. Note that it can change from "ship" mode to "robot" mode.

Thread: Convert textures for p4 people to mil figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: Star Wars stuff
We have a ton of Star Wars stuff make specifically for use in Poser over at [Vanishing Point](http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/freestuff.asp?ClassificationID=1): all free, no membership required, and no need to fool around with importing and scaling. :) As for getting community support for a Mill to P4 texture-converter: I don't think there's enough support to make it worth the developer's time. Yes, the P4 figures are included in P7, but how many people still use those figures? You may be better off convincing the Animotions people to upgrade their characters for use with V3, M3, or V4.

Thread: Apollo Max doesn't play Nice with Universal Poses | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: My Review of Poser 7; Universal Poses
I've started experimenting with universal poses and I'm finding that the original pose seems to work better than the new, universal pose. I applied poses for V2 to Sydney and applied M2 poses to Simon... with poor results. So, while I think the idea of including universal poses is a good one, I don't think the feature is quite finished.

Thread: Poor Poser 7 Renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Keep in mind that the FireFly Renderer in Poser 5 and Poser 6 had the option to turn "texture filtering" on or off. If you turned it on, textures would look sharper, even in the distance.
ThrommArcadia is correct: in Poser 7, this is no longer a user-changeable option. The manual says that tetxure filtering is turned on by default, but I'm seeing blurry textures in my scenes, especially when I compare the same image I rendered in Poser 6.
Also, the File > Export (to image) feature has been changed: you can no longer set the compression rate for any file types. I suggest saving the image as Photoshop, and then opening the file in either Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro and using those programs' "Save for Web" command.

Thread: Release date for P7 SR1..? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To nip the upcoming rumor in the bud:
Poser 7 will EASILY open Poser 4, Poser 5, and Poser 6 scenes without any issues whatsoever. I personally have now opened over 30 scene files that I made in Poser 4 and Poser 6 and every single one of them opened fine and rendered exactly the same as if I opened them in Poser 6. It would be incredibly foolish if e-frontier didn't allow Poser 7 to open pre-existing Poser scene files.
Call me dense, but I still don't get why you would "File > Import" an existing Poser scene instead of just going to "File > Open". Do you normally import your pre-existing Word documents into Word 2000?
If you want faster renders, go to Edit > General Preferences, click on the Render tab, set the "threads" slider to 4, and click the checkbox underneath. This will allow the FireFly renderer to use multiple processors (if you have them) and separate memory threads.

Thread: Can anyone who had downloaded V4 tell... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To answer the original question, just look at the history of DAZ figures:
V3 wouldn't take V2 stuff unless you used the V3-V2 figure, but that figure didn't take V3 or V2 morphs.
From what I've heard, the V4-V3 figure will be the same: it will take V3 stuff, but it won't take the morphs of V4 or V3.
Sure, PhilC will be providing Wardobe Wizard support, but realistically, how many people use that program? How many people will be clamoring for all-new clothing specifically made for V4?
In other words, like all of the V2 stuff, all of the V3 stuff will soon be obsolete.

Thread: Need help setting the ground color in Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, I have the lastest Poser SIX patches installed... I'm spelling it out this time to avoid typos. ;-)
The material settings for the ground are as close to the background as possible: the diffuse color, specular color, ambient color, etc are all the same. The only difference is that the ground material has a lot more options than the background material (displacement, bump, etc)... though these are all set to 0 (for values) or black (for colors).

Dang it, that should be "Poser 6" not "7'.
Stupid typo. :)
Sorry about that.
Though this question could also apply to Poser 5. ;)

Thread: Panel Van now available at Vanishing Point | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Materials and mapping are always a challenge.
More materials can make the model more versatile, but it could become a pain for the end-user to recolor. Some people prefer to change all of the "glass" by using one material, but some people would prefer multiple "glass" materials... and other people may get annoyed that there are 10 materials, all named "glass1", "glass2", "glass3", and so on. Sure, Poser 6 makes it easy to copy & paste material settings, but it still takes time to paste the settings to all 10 glass materials.
The Panel Van already has 32 materials. For some people, this may not be enough, for others, this could be too many.
So, I'm not sure what the correct answer is. ;)

I really, really hate to be a jerk about this, but can I ask how is your model different from the free version available at Content Paradise? Thanks

Thread: Is poser 6's Poser 4 Renderer slower than the same on P5??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Actually, I've noticed the opposite in Poser 6: The P4 Renderer seems to be significantly faster than the Firefly Renderer. Here's an example:
I set a scene to render to the main window, at 400x600 pixels (72 dpi).
The P4 renderer (with the "Ignore Shader Trees" option checked) took about a minute or maybe less.
Using the Firefly Renderer at the third-highest quality setting took ages: I stopped it after 20 minutes of waiting for Poser to go through it's "Adding objects" and "Calculating lights" routine.
(And unlike many versions of Poser 5, the cancel button worked nicely: it stopped rendering and I could get back to work.)
I then changed the dimensions to 4800x7200 pixels, 200 dpi (for a large print),and the same third-highest quality using Firefly. I started rendering at 12:45pm Sunday afternoon. Poser was still rendering when I went to sleep at 11:50pm Monday night. When I woke up Tuesday morning, it was finished and I was able to save the rendered image.
Did I make a complex image with 20 characters? Did I have a million polygons? Nope, this is the image that took over two days to render: Against the Wall 2005.
Unfortunately, the maximum render size for the P4 Renderer is 4096x4096, so I have no choice but to use the Firefly Renderer for large images.

Quote - When is the sale over?! Why doesn't your store show the sale dates - start and end?
I don't mean to sound like a smart-aleck, but what sale are you talking about?
Do you mean the usual 10% discount we give on all our products, all of the time? If so, the answer to your question would be: the "sale" started February 13, 2005 (the date we extended the price to everyone, not just members) and the "sale" never ends. Though, technically, the "sale" started February 13, 2004, when we gave the 10% discount to only Vanishing Point members.
