Hi Thanks for the info. I used to do alot of beta testing for inhouse software. One thing I learned is that sometimes memory gets corrupted by one bug-even in a different program-and sometimes manifests at the least opportune time in another. Last night Netscape crashed-I opened P4 without rebooting-and opened a robot character-fine. Later I opened the Jungle Babe character and she was wearing the robots texture-pretty weird site since the mapping is different! :-) Then DOWN goes the computer when I tried to fix it. I am rambling! Anyway thanks for your info... Eric W

Hi Marge Which version of P4 are you working with. I have had better results with 4.02.116 (Jan 25,2000 version). I am not sure how it compares with the MetaC Beta 7 update. Usually Larry Weinberg posts sooner on his page than Meta does. He did tell me he planned to post today or tomorrow. One Poser quirk is that if your working area size is too large-too close to the controls, P4 has trouble telling if you are clicking on a control or something in your scene. You might try setting a camera to zoom in on your character-and use it for selection-then use another camera for scene overview. Of course you could be experiencing a bug too... Cool! Nice perspective Where did you get the water? Pretty realistic! Love that hair-I might suggest one of T Laubach's or other Realistic skin textures-that hair is SO realistic! What ever happened to the old "plastic hair helmet" look? Regards, Eric Walters

Hi Jeff! Is this different from the 4.02.116 beta on Larry's page dated 1/25/2000? With the old phone lines in my place, I can only get 26K so 8.1 Mbytes for the Mac Beta 7 takes hours! Thanks again! Eric Walters-Hmmn, maybe the odl "Mech" character will be Mac-able using the conversion utility! You helped me a lot way back when. It will be cool not to manually edit obj and Cr2's with Word!

Hi Diane I hope so! I read a message from Eric Wenger (Bryce Creator) saying he does not intend to let Bryce dissapear. Evidently, he owns most of the code and Meta just had licensed it. And considering the nearly universal popularity it has I am certain it will find a home. Also considering the large population of Bryce users... What better product than one with a great deal of popularity and a large user base? After all the Poser4 book just hit the stores. Although I guess it may also depend on how far along she was in its creation.... Guess I just optimistic! regards, Eric Walters

I understand! I just saw some posts in the Strata forum about getting Poser textures to render. Maybe its time to revisit SSPRO! regards, Eric Walters

Thanks for the info Rosh. At times I live in my computer as well! A question though. Having 3ds max r3 (A VERY expensive program) why render in Bryce? I have Strata SS Pro and although some of the modelling features are behind the times (it used to be a "high end" program but has not been updated for a couple of years) the rendering quality (advanced raytracing, radiosity, etc) is still high end according to reviews. Unfortunately, I have not had much success getting Poser textures to render well in SSPRo-so I use Bryce4 for rendering. Is that the case for you as well? I read somewhere that the modeling features in Max are top flight-but rendering perhaps not? It would be nice to have one Program that would be terrific at modeling, character creation, landscapes and terrain, animation-and High end for realistic renders-of course there is MAYA-for the price of a compact car! :-) Eric Walters

Nice job Kathleen! Gotta check out the cloth. Did you do the transparency with Photpshop layers? Or was it transmapped? Eric Walters

Hi I have seen various articles about adding a ball at the joint, parenting the leg or arm to the ball, and rotating the ball to move the leg-very clunky and robotlike-Cecilia Zimmer wrote it up (again) for this months issue of 3D Artist Magazine. Eric Walters
