I know what you mean. Ended up renaming the old one with '_old', so that it wasn't overwritten (just in case). I haven't checked to see if everything's fixed yet, either. Seems like DAZ is in such a hurry to keep people happy until M3 arrives that blunders were made. ;)
Thread: V2-V3 Texture Converter | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think that this is a result of needing to warp the input texture in order to fit the output (since much of the UV mapping has been changed from V2 to V3). Still, anti-aliasing would go a long way to remove the artifactual jaggies created by the conversion process (around the mouth). Otherwise, I don't see too much loss of quality in the V3 conversion render as compared to the V2 render. The most noticeable areas are the jaggedness of the eyebrows and upper lip. BYS

What's stopping you from making a texture map with the keyboard as well as the rest of the piano? Are you using a texture image? If you like, send me the .obj file and I'll get it set up - have lots of experience with texture mapping and UV Mapper. BYS

LOL! CL poorly handled the press and release of P5 at a bad economic time. We all know what "three strikes and you're out" means...

when your OS login password is "JustForPoser" (not a real one there, so don't even think about it ;).

Kate, that's the other part of XP I despise. It is really just a means, like CL's now-removed protection, to aggravate good customers and make the others laugh. It's disgusting when a cracked version works better than the "protected" version because of the protection being removed. Says alot about whom (or what) M$ really cares: itself and its profits...
Thread: CRZ files... how do I open them? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No, this is the path shown in the WinZip window as the "Path" destination. And when I extract (or drag out the file), it complains that the archive file doesn't exist. Maybe it's my WinZip settings? That's alright though, I found the uncompressPoserFile.py script which works with a little loving care - i.e. fixing the two mistakes in it. ;)

I have to agree completely with RealDeal. Windows 2000 is one of the most stable OSs on the market (maybe besides some specialized ones). Crashes? What are they? The only time W2K crashes is when there is a bad driver loaded which can usually be replaced or removed. My FTP/Web server runs W2K Pro and the only time it needs to be rebooted is when there are Windows Updates requiring it. And, yes, I complete ignore XP (even Pro). Could not get it to install on either of my systems and caused me endless agony trying to reinstall W2K afterwards. Did someone say "Windows 2003"? :) Has a beta been sent with the MSDN license?
Thread: Library help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Speaking of Poser file types, I wanted to decompress all of the compressed files in the libraries. Searching the forum, I found that there is a Python script which does this. Great! But upon running it, it ended with an error about a file not being compressed. Checking the script, I found two errors, one of which could be catastrophic. The first is: '.fcz' : '.fc2' which should be reversed as '.fc2' : '.fcz'. The second is: '.hr2':'fc2 ', which should be '.hr2':'hr2 '. Once corrected, ALL of the files were properly converted. Has this been addressed to CL or has nobody noticed this? BYS

Hey, when I open a .CRZ with WinZip 8.1, the path is something like "C:Documents and SettingsratDesktopPoser InstallerPoser etc" and, by consequence, cannot be found. These are registered versions of Poser5 and WinZip 8.1. What's up?

Ages ago, one would think. ;) Dinos, animals, people - these are not easy things to model. I started just recently and stayed with simple objects so far: cups, bowls, teapots. When I decide to model a dino, I know that I'm in trouble. :)

No need to apologize, SAMS3D. It's impossible to be correct, fool-proof, or not goof for anybody all the time. I'm sure that I've made at least two or three goofs already today. :)
