Looks good to me. You can see everything, but it still has that dark illumination quality, like pre-dawn. Nice image.
Thread: Dual Monitors | Forum: Bryce
The clone mode is useless for me. I currently have it set up as a 2048 x 768 desktop, which goes across the pair of 21" monitors. Works great for Photoshop, Poser, and other programs where the sub-windows can be moved. It would work for Bryce too if I could just drag that scene window away from the center. I hate to have to reset the card settings before and after using bryce, and being locked into everything fitting on a single monitor. What a waste of time (not to mention wasting the second monitor). So, there is no way to get the scene window to move, or get bryce to use less than the whole desktop?

Some thoughts:
An image on a Mac looks lighter than the same image on a PC.
LCD screens have a very different gamma than a CRT, and most people with LCDs do not have any special gamma software to compensate. Images made to look good on an LCD often look too dark on a CRT.
I created the following alignment page several years ago specifically for CRTs on a PC. It is not accurate for LCDs or Macs, though may get you closer than nothing on those too. Be aware that to even see the dark gray boxes within the black box at the bottom of that page you will have to stare at the box for several seconds. Even the lightest of those 5 boxes should seem black when you first glance at it.

I have a Gig of RAM on a dual 1Ghz PIII, with Win2k and a dual monitor Matrox, 1.5GB virtual memory. P5 works fine. No crashes, but some things get so slow that I feel like I'm on a old 386 again. The cloth room is VERY touchy. If polys are even too close between the figure and the cloth it can go into loops forever (but the program is still running, since I can still hit "Cancel" and stop the simulation within 30 seconds or so). Raytracing and anti-alias renders are also quite slow, though I've been using V3, which probably slows things down. The results of the renders are nice. You could have the fastest, most feature packed PC made today, and this program would probably still bring it to it's knees.
Thread: To anyone having P5 trouble with V3 morph injectors | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just went through that. I injected all morphs and saved the character to the library. When I used it there were a lot of dials with "-". I initially assumed that some of the morphs had gone away. But I did a careful check against a fresh injection and every morph was there. These were extra dials with the "-". I closed Poser and ran the DialCleaner and the saved character now has all the morphs and no empty "-" dials. Be warned that dial cleaner is quite slow on a fully packed V3. I thought it had crashed, but bit my lip and it eventually finished.

Two of the V3 installers (I don't remember if it was the base, morphs, Model head, or bikini, since I bought all at the same time) had the same kind of mistake in the installer. They mentioned some other figure in the text on one page of each installer.

Thread: Non-Poser: Need Video Clip Help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you use "streaming" technology then the video starts playing before it is fully downloaded, but that usually requires having a streaming server (special software on the web server). Quicktime can do that, Real does that, and some others do too. But they require server software to do it. In general the limits are what you saw. Fast, small files are grainy. Better quality is slower. Better codecs do help. Software like Cleaner 5 can convert between different formats and codecs, and improve the quality and the speed of download.
Thread: Are most illustrations using Poser truly professional quality? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The renderer in P4 is not as good as the one in P5, which is not as good as ones in other high end packages. But "pro" work can mean a lot of things. Who is your market, and what style are they looking for? Are you trying to save money/time from hiring a photographer or drawing an illustration by hand? Many people use high end renderers, but still pose the models using Poser. You'll see a lot of people here using 3DS, Maya, or Lightwave, but also using poser to control scenes. Depending on what you want to do, Poser may not be enough to do it all.
Thread: Which V3 Cr2 is Distributable? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
caleb68 said: >> 1) The distribution rights are the same as before with >> the prior 2 victoria's. >> >> 2) If you strip a cr2 clean and place your CUSTOM >> morphs into the Cr2 then your not breaking any rules on it. That's not what it says on the FAQ page on their site. It says: "The Victoria 2 and Vicki 2 P4 Cr2 files (both included in the Victoria 2 product) cannot be redistributed in whole or in part." Further, it says: " It is legal, however, to redistribute the original Victoria 1 Cr2 file and the Vicki2P4 LE Cr2 file, which we have provided for use by those interested in distributing Victoria-derivative products for use by those already owning either Victoria 1 and/or Victoria 2." I believe the same is true for Vicky 3. You can not distribute the Cr2 files. (though it would be good to hear one way or another from a Daz rep.)
Thread: FREE Container Model | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just curious if you tried rendering this in Poser? The following is done in Poser 5, production render settings (Firefly; raytracing & shadows on). I tried it both with smooth polygons on and off in the renderer and the object. It seems to have the typical Poser soft edges on those indents on the end of the container and the edges of the container:
Thread: Ground Shadows in P5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have you thought about maybe adding another light, seeing if it has a camera, and if so then set that light up like your current shadowing light and then get rid of the first one? I'm wondering if something to do with the import of the P4 scene caused the light to not be defined properly for P5. The P5 manual seems to say explicitly that there will be one camera for every light.

The default rendering resolution may not be the same as your document window. I noticed that the default rendering size was 640 x 480 no matter what size I set my document window to.
Thread: Stretch effect | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If the faces are stretched on the mesh sides, but not stretched on the texture map, then the textures look stretched when rendered because a small part of the texture map is being stretched to fit the stretched faces of the mesh.
Thread: Long nails for V3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you inject the long fingernails morph, from the ! Full-Body INJ folder, then adjust the morph dial from the body, they all change at once.
