Hi Bloodsong! Thanks very much for your comment. Will try that out immediately, thanks for the tips! Maybe Ill get some superior Fire material created in vue. Well see. I think for realistic flames Ill need to use several materials. Still experimenting. What a challenging challenge. (This time its me who got a silly phrase) ;-)

Thread: May Challenge - My entry (This time its serious) | Forum: Vue
Hi Folks! Thanks for your comments! Yes I know, the scene is one of the darkest youve ever seen. I made it "extra-dark", because of the scenery (Its my NIGHT-assault theme), I just wanted to get a pretty realistic dark night, Ive thought several times of putting more light into the scene, but at the test-renders it appeared to me, that the realism of a true "dark-night" was gone. Its a VERY dark scene for my monitor, too. Dont try to adjust your monitor and making the scene brighter, just accept, that you cant see everything at dark night. Another reason to keep the picture quite dark was the explosion. In my oppinion the explosion is much more eye-catching than in a good lighted scenery. Maybe Ive seen too many of these action movies with explosions in the darkness. The models are not self-made. I got the military stuff (Tanks, Airplane and so on) from de Esponas Website, hes got some good free models for download (http://www.3dup.com/highmodels/1024/index.html). The soldiers are modified poser models that have been imported to vue. BTW: Most poser stuff I use is from the renderosity free stuff.

Thread: Funny Chess set | Forum: Vue
A very interesting piece of work. I like playing chess and I never say No to someone asking for a match. It would surely be interesting to have a "real" chess-board like this. Which one is the bishop? It seems like black is winning, there are 7 black figures but only 6 white. When I look longer at the picture, it reminds me of the good old "Battle Chees" series. Im sure your board would look nice, too when its animated. But its also a good scene for a still. BTW: Why are you playing on the ground? ;-) Maybe I should post a nice chess-table... (Just kidding...). Anyhow: Most unusual chess-figures Ive ever seen, maybe well see your complete set of "Astro-Chess" (Or however you call that unique set of figures) one day at the market place...

Thanks for your comments, folks. You always make my day with that. @tradivoro: Youre absolutely right, the plane should be a little bit "demolished" after a crash. Will note that down for further "crash-scenes". Im sure I can still improve the fires realism in my upcoming fourth (and hopefully last - Sorry Guitta for making so much work...) rendering for the may challenge. Dont want to say too much, but I still havent finished with my war-scenes. Also planning some space-images. Well see. Ya know this always depends on how much spare time I got the weekends (This one was a REAL "render-weekend"...). BTW: Thanx to you all for being a part of this wonderful community! Cheers! Stefan

Damn good idea. Dont like the ground (The textures not bad, but some variations would surely look more stunning), but I just love the whole picture! Very good work, Thumbs up for this one!!!

Thread: The Circus is in Town! Come one, Come all! | Forum: Vue
My tip: Sell the circus props at the Renderosity Marketplace and the world will have one more rich person. ;-) No Joke, Im sure with the circus props you can easily make it to the merchant of the month, give it a try and others the possibility to buy.

The old 3D exploration is shareware, you may use it for FREE for 30 days. Youll find the download at http://www.righthemisphere.com/products/3dexplore/downloads/ It will work fully functional for 30 days, then you ll have to register. BTW: *.mdl files are originally Quake 3D models (From the game quake) and are used for several "Gaming" 3D Models. They can easily be read and converted with 3D Exploration. If that didnt help, I just dunno.

I like the idea, although I dont like the fire and the background. The fire is kinda strange and doesnt really seem to me like burning the paper. The background looks boring and unrealistic. Maybe you should use another texture if you want to use the wall. Anyhow: The idea is absolutely brilliant, keep working on it.

Whoa this is GRRREAT!!! It really shows that you did your homework (or at least ate your frosties...). Man, if I look at that stunning image, I get somehow jealous. Very cool colors. Just a pitty that the model looks somehow like low-polygon. Maybe I had taken some other Texture or model, dont know, just think the ship doesnt look as cool as the rest, but its not that I find it awful or so, Its OK, but I would see a possible improvement here. After all, your image has impressed me so much, that Ive chosen to set up a space project after my current (A war scene). Thanks for giving us the possibility to view such a high-end image, Im sure youre some folks inspiration. ;-)

Thanks a lot for your comments folks, keep posting, I like to hear everyones opinion. Sorry for the tree. Should have done that in another way. But if you look close to his legs, you can see the tree coming out of the ground (sorry for my bad english...). -To Guitta: Thanks a lot, that was REALLY fast. May I post another Pic for this Theme if I come across another stoned idea?
