Again , as someone stated already. What you are seeing may not be "Poser Figures" Poser does not have its own models. Poser models come from and are made into models of different formats. Viewpoints "18 Perfect people" forexample look exactly like Poser figures but they are not Poser originally.

Well, for me, the names mean nothing. I mean if the characters were called bucked malici(maliceye) looking people I would not get upset as I do look like malici from the children of the corn. Stereotypes are always a funny thing and yes I grew up getting my share of mean treatment but I have since realized the stupidity in getting upset over it. Hey you know there is a website that offers WWII poser figures and for about the last year or two all they have had available are the NAZI and SS figures. They claim that they are not pro NAZI but given the time involved, I'd say that they actually are. I think it actually started as an indiana jones download and then changed to WWII.

I had not thought of Caligari giving Curious trouble so I guess I will tell Caligari what I want. Actually, When Truespace first came out it was under two hundred dollars if I recall. Sure over time the cost has increased but it is still at an entry level price range. I bought my TS 4 for under 400 at the store. Whats this about Poser trying to coonect to the net? I believe these reports are false as it has never happened to me. But I have had instance in the past where other programs , even notepad, have tried once or twice. I rule this as windows getting confused and all it may take is a reinstall or a cleaning of the registry. Pete

While I am glad Konan is creating this plugin for TrueSpace I am amazed that CUriouslabs as implemented MAX and LW functionallity via plugins into Poser and ignored TrueSpace. Just shows you where Curious' head is. Poser is a good compliment to any 3D package but Poser and TS are more likely pairs wheras LW MAX and Poser are less likely in the professional arena. I know there are pairs like thAt out there but the number of TS and POSER users are greater than Poser and MAX/LW users. besides MAX and LW are a higher level than TS and Poser so its an awful mismatch Pete

It also has 3DSMAX and Lightwave Functionality via a set of plugins finally for poser. However, they have appeared to ignore TrueSpace users. LW and 3DSMAX professionals are less likely to use POser than TrueSpace users. LW and MAX are for the accomplished. Poser and truespace are originally intended for the entry crowd. This makes me furious that they left out TrueSpace. Obviously someone at Curious does not have a clue. On the TrueSpace Mail List there is often a discussion of Poser and how to's. Whereas on the MAX and LW boards there is very little. Tighten those screws Curious! Any more brains fall out and Poser will be worthless in the future Pete

Thanks Allerleirauh, I'll try that. Previously I would load BVH number one, go to last frame, break spline and then import another BVH. Then since the spline was broken I repositioned the figure at the first frame of the second BVH thinking the Previous keyframes would be left untouched but I was wrong. I was selecting the body as a whole. The result was the second BVH was where I wanted it but the previous BVH was moved completely out of place. To move using the hip I should make sure that IK is off when using BVH's. Actually I think the users of this forum says it all as far as Poser is concerned. About 80% to 90% of them only use Poser for stills. I guess most of them had figured something out that I want to refuse to believe. Pete

BTW in my last post I said" I would actually do that". i meant that I wouldn't do that. I know Larry didn't write the manual but for animation is program does not act perperly. You animate a figure. Make one small adjustment and it throughs the entire animation out of wack. I mean if you say, move an arm forward just a bit more, it should not push the other keyframes foward. It seems to act that way often. Where as if you animate in say Truespace and then make a small adjustment your animation does not get thrown out of wack. Hell, I've made adjustments in poser on an arm and then all of a sudden the dorks foot is going up his ass. Its next to impossible to stitch BVH files together. Ones that start at different coordinates that is. If anybody has the answer to that one I'd like to know. And just yesterday I tweaked a BVH file for 3 hours saved it under a new name and reopened it later only to find that my tweaks were not saved. Poser does have pluses like morph target animation but getting it to do what you want is the part that is harder than it needs top be. Pete

I agree with what you say for the most part. But not all "how do you do this" questions are from warez freaks. I've been using purchased versions of Poser since Poser 2 and can say that the manuals suck as well as the third party books. I can also say that I have extreme trouble with animating and handling BVH files cause poser sucks at animation and using BVH files. I would say that if the how do you do question pertained to something on the first few pages of the manual, yes then that is a warez user. But it its a question thats answer is found deep in the manual, probably not a warez user. I want poser to work for me but more often than not it works against me and sometimes I get so pissed that if Larry weinberg or one of his employees were sitting next to me, I'd punch his lights out.
