Thread: Time to rename this forum... | Forum: Carrara
Eovia still mentions Raydream and Infini-D on their home page of their website. Eovia seems to think it matters. Who really cares ANYWAY. As long as the forum continues to put forth great Carrara information like it always does. It is the best Carrara forum on the web. This thread is a real WASTE OF TIME because it is not addressing any functionality or tips on Carrara (sounds like what the author [TheGigaShadow] of this thread was complaining about). Did I hear the word hyppocrit from TheGigaShadow? LOL TheGigaShadow it is not nice to call names TheGigaShadow. I don't call you names on this forum and this is a perfect opportunity to do so, however, I will pass on the elementary school activity that you like to engage in. TheGigaShadow -- Because you are so HOT on this topic maybe you should start hounding Eovia for mentioning Raydream and Infini-D and insist they remove it from their website too. LOL. What a joke!

Mr. TheGigaShadow people count even if they can't run with the fastest in the pack (or disagree with you). Leaving a little notation for the RayDream/Infini-D users can't hurt anyone in the Carrara forum. I have noticed that excellent and very current Carrara information is fully addressed on this forum. (hardly ever is there a RayDream post) I think Gravitons banner addresses everyone's needs while giving all the impact to current Carrara users. I am no sheep but I am not intellectually closed (like you) to other peoples needs or suggestions (even if I don't see their need at first). I am willing to look at different points of view and have the courage to change my mind. Besides the RayDream and Infini-D lurkers might find that Carrara is a great upgrade for them as they browse this excellent forum. I think it helps sell the slowpokes on choosing Carrara.

It should remain the same according to this thread. There are issues that seem to concern Raydream users Like Kix pointed out. Leaving the name alone does not hurt anyone. The best solution in my opinion comes from Mike: have Carrara in big bold letters ,then have Raydream/Infini-d in much smaller letters after it. (or under it --- like Graviton's banner design --- vote for Graviton's banner and the problem is solved). I change my vote to agree with Mike's idea.

Carrara 3 is a great upgrade all the way around. If you are using Carrara 2 and like it version three is a definite upgrade. Carrara is not the world's greatest modeler, however, dollar for dollar it may be the best renderer around. For simple modeling it is very handy too. As you already know from using version 2 the shading and texturing are world class and have only became better. Don't save your money waiting for version 4 when Carrara Studio 3 has so much to offer over version 2. You can really crank out 3d scenes very FAST especially when compared with some other 3d packages. The workflow in Carrara 3 is excellent.
Thread: Got my RustBoy book...you have to check this out | Forum: Carrara
Rustboy is awesome. The website said it was created using Infin-D. I have heard Infini-D was rolled into Carrara. Does the creator use Carrara for Rustboy at all because his web site makes no mention of Carrara? Brian Taylor does fantastic work. I love it!

I found that to be the case also. Though there still is much left to be desired of the outcome. I think the spline modeler should be doing this much better. I for one call it a BUG.
Thread: Squashed pipeline | Forum: Carrara
I tried the above shape and got the same problems/results. I also tried using a free envelope (and all the others), but, that didn't work either. You should not have to use any extrusion envelope at all on this spline object anyway. I think you found a bug. If you find a way to make the shape work properly please share. My bet is that a free extrusion envelope will not work for you either. Good luck in finding the answer. I hope it works for you.
