I have a Gateway 700GR P4 3.4 gigaherz with 128 Radeon PCI express graphics card and 2 gigs of RAM. Have three serial hard drives 250 gigs each. (I added the extra gig of Ram and the two extra hard drives.) This system is great with Poser 6. The base computer can be purchased for around $1,000 US at Bestbuy. It comes with 1 gig of RAM, the 128 graphics card and one 250 gig hard drive. Also a DVD burner. It is very upgradeable. I love it!
Thread: You know you're addicted to Poser when.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You know you are adicted to poser when you notice that you have bought over 900 items from RR - not counting Daz and the other stores - in the last year, all on your charge cards. Now , since you've gone over the limit on those charge card (which they let you do because then they can charge you some outrageous overthelimit fee - they have upped your interest rate to 33 percent, which you can't pay. So now you are broke. Yes, you are addicted to Poser. yes, I see people and wonder how I can turn them into Poser people. Help me! I fallen and I can't get up, LOL!

Most likely it will be yet another character like Miki and Appolo Maximus that cost a bundle just for the base figure and than you have to buy textures, clothes, hair fits, poses and on and on until your charge card companie cancels your card, LOL!

I can't show you my all-time HUGE runtime because Poser 5 simply would not work anymore and I deleted it. I was up to about 70 gigs. I have Poser 6 now, and it , LOL! Going to put another copy of Poser on another drive for the extra stuff. Haven't got the hang of seperate runtimes. Heard that's the answer.
Thread: Have People forgotten how to compress thier images? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you use too much compression you get nasty compression artefacts. Weird stuff in the image. I used to be on dial-up so I feel your pain. Can someone recommend a good file size for dialup? I think I make my images too big in striving for detail.

Nasty flames should be locked and deleted and people who see them should report them to the admins. That way the nasty posts can't hurt people like it did Dudley.
Thread: Sadness :-( | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I would like to know what happened with Dudley? I heard someone said something nasty, and if that is so, shouldn't the administrators delete nasty comments? IMHO, if someone has a problem with another person, they should email them privately. As far as Dudley, he has always been wonderful to me and comments on everyone's images. I hope he comes back soon!!!!
Thread: poser 6 garbage | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have Poser 6 plus all the patches running on a 3.4 gig Pentium with a 128 Radeon PCI express. Windows XP Home. I have 2 gigs of PC3200 (400) RAM and Poser has it's own hard drive at 250 gigs. I turn off everything in the sys tray, and I still get "Out of Memory" errors when I try to render in production. Some hair looks nasty if texture filtering is not turned on. Now, out of memory errors would be tolerable if, when I get them, Poser 6 would not destroy the PZ3 file. It just wipes it blank!! I have heard other people have had this problem as well. Also, I have found Norton products to cause problems with other programs way back in the DOS days. I use the free AVG and it catches all the viruses. The new owners of Curious Labs need to release a memory fix.
