What could be interesting is if Daz does actually get the 1,000,000 downloads it's after. That might even be enough to get some notice from the big program companies out there that are looking for new markets to conquer. Daz might just attract some real competition to the whole 3D "hobby" field & the guppies might get swallowed.

Poser's future depends entirely on it's new owners. Until we hear their plans all else is speculation. It's also useless to argue at this time since no one knows how D|S will turn out in the end. For now, save your breath, go to your corners and a year from now when there's something real to talk about, come out fighting.

What makes me go "wow" is seeing something I myself can't do but wish I could or seeing some technique I hadn't thought of or seen before. Doesn't so much matter what the subject matter is, just that it's something that I can then try to apply to my own stuff.

I think a majority of people that get things on p2p are people that would never purchase the items anyways. If they couldn't get it for free, they wouldn't want it. It sucks seeing your stuff there but there isn't anything you can do about it so best not to let it bother you too much. Consider it the unfortunate price of doing business on the internet.

I bet your mother is old enough to be able to handle nudity :) If she asks what that picture is there for, try explaining it like an adult.

only way Poser is a utility for D|S is if you can export files from D|S into Poser to work on them... if you can't export from D|S into Poser then they are two totally seperate things with seperate marketplaces and uses. The community splits into two seperate entities and becomes much smaller for both.

I hate to say it but if I hadn't seen these beta-tester pics and had only seen the marketplace picture I wouldn't have given this texture set a second thought... but now she might just have to go on my wishlist :)

I must have 40-50 cars that I've picked up for free over the years and several more that were less than $20. Have to admit that I'll rarely go over $20 for anything except Daz millennium figures and even that makes me groan. It's simply too easy to find versions of almost anything you'd want for Poser for less than $20 if you look hard enough.

Just to further confuse, get the V3-V2 hybrid, has the excellent Vicky 3 head put onto the far superior Vicky 2 body. Best of both worlds.

Does D|S give you the option to save a scene as a .cr2 file rather than .daz? It would severely reduce my enthusiasm for the program (down to no interest) if you can't bring a scene back into Poser.
