But you already knew all that.
Hi,
of course. That's why I asked
Thanks a lot for the explanation. So, tone mapping is just half of the fun, and if I want to use it, I have to apply reverse GC on all my textures and fixed color nodes, or the image will be overexposed  . That will be much more complicated than the "GC" option PoserPro, that one was simple to use.
I can still hope for real GC in a P8 service release.
Best regards,
Michael
Thread: Not Feeling the Love in the DAZ Forum lately | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello,
yes, the energizing competition between DAZ programs (DS + Carrara) versus Poser unfortunately has moved to a lot of flame war. It's almost like the MS Windows vs. Linux discussions a few years ago.
For constructive topics, my learning was to best discuss Poser topics here at Rendo (since CP has closed) and Carrara topics at DAZ (I don't use DS).
It is unfortunate, because with some more cooperation, most of the content could be used in both programs much more easily.
Btw., the DAZ forums are not mentioned in the Poser 8 manual (Page 8, Third Party forums), despite most rendered content I believe is bought there.
Best regards,
Michael
Thread: SmithMicro PayPal problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
I experienced the same problem last weekend. Wanted to pay via PayPal from the
CP site, was forwarded to PayPal, saw the correct amount there, pushed "OK",
was forwarded back to CP. Cart not paid.
Tried the same with credit card, it worked. I immediately changed my PW on PayPal,
I hope it was just a bug, not a DNS attack.
Best regards,
Michael
Thread: P8 figure bending test | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
CORRECTION: In my second post: Replace "Ryan" by "Alyson". I did the feet and arms tests with the females. (Sorry, could not edit that post since I did replies on it already.)

Michael

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
(Without wanting to start a flame thread, just my opinion: There is a definitive
improvement compared to Sydney at the heel, but her toes got a bit too thin,
as if something very heavy just stepped on her.)
Thread: Why was Sydney called G2 female instead of P7 female like Alyson is P8 female? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
P.S.: Didn't try it yet, but of the muscle morphs are automatically triggered by limb bending,
that would be great and help a lot to produce realistic images easily.
(They mentioned something like dependant parameters, I must try it later today)
Thread: Why was Sydney called G2 female instead of P7 female like Alyson is P8 female? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
the P8 figures seem to be very similar to the P7 figures, with some improvements.
The morphs are very well grouped and numerous. The feet have toe controls now,
and IMHO they bend much better.
The P8 figures have a lot of muscle morphs, it's like V4 + morphs++ + MuscleMorphs pack.

Michael

Hi,
I rarely use IE, I prefer Opera. No probs downloading or running P8.

Thread: Poser 8 Content File, will I ever.......... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello,
it took me 12 hours for the contents zip, and I have a 16000 DSL connection.
It's a problem of their servers :-(.
Luckily, all files downloaded without any retries. Next thing I'll do is to burn a backup DVD.
Best regards,
Michael
Thread: Question for PhilC ref WW in Poser 8... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

WW1
The data files for WW1 have never been compatible with WW2. That was pretty much the whole point of the update. Which figures are you not seeing supported by WW2 that were supported by WW1?
Hi Phil,
well, they are supported, but I see no upgrade option. For WW1 I had the V4 addon, and
Ingenue Vickie 3 support. For WW2 I only see those figures by purchasing at full price the V4 package again, plus Expansion Pack 6. It would be great to have those integrated in the P8 WW.
I see an upgrade option WW1 => WW2, but not for the figure packs.
Best regards,
Michael
P.S.: Almost forgot to mention: It is great to have WW integrated in Poser 8. For non-WW-owners, this could be one major reason to upgrade to P8, as WW alone is worth half of the upgrade price ;-)
Thread: Question for PhilC ref WW in Poser 8... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello,
what is about WW1 users? Is there a possibility to upgrade figure packs for WW1 to WW P8,
or is WW1 compatible to WW2?
Also, my WW1 includes a lot of figures which I no longer see in the WW P8 figure list, that seems
to be limited to efrontier/SmithMicro figures.
Best regards,
Michael

Where do you find the settings, etc., for indirect lighting and GI..? Please.
Hi,
go to render settings, "manual settings" tab, press "acquire from auto", then checkmark the
"indirect light" box.

Michael
Thread: Dear Texture Creators: Learn Math | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
I bet they have some stock options with Intel or AMD and just increase the need for a faster
computer. Processing dummy nodes takes same time as processing meaningful
nodes.

Michael
