Gareee...did you ask this question over on the Poser newsgroup? The old 'dome headed' Forbidden Planet robot was either linked to or posted over there sometime ago...and someone on the group did a graphic tutorial on how to make the head shield have a transparent look. I am sure someone over there still has the info. I do have the model and will dig it out and see if the readme has any info.
Thread: Stupid questions... and whom to ask them? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Seriously Doc Geep, what you should do is go ahead and post the tuts for free here for those of us that know about them...and still put out a book or CD. I mean the only book on Poser I know of is the hunk of expensive trash put out by Mortimer the Sham or whoever...that sells for over $40. [and has less useful info than the worthless Poser manual].
Thread: Unbelievable Price ! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Fashionably_Late at the great price this set is being offered I would be tempted to buy it and dink around with dials to see if I could get it to fit V3 or get a copy of LoRes V2.
Comparing gallery postings at various sites it seems to me there is still quite a ratio of V2 postings over V3, and since V2 and the old Stephanie have a lot of interchangeable stuff I think she is going to continue to be popular.
Thread: uh ? where is this "renderovision" i heard of ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Rendervisions is just one of many new sites popping up catering to the general populance of 3d Graphic artists and posters. Like it or not, Renderosity is giving a great boost to these sites simply by just being Renderosity. I am not blasting Rosity...I still think it is a great site with a lot of diversity, but too ofen the diversity is overshadowed by the controversy surrounding it. The plus side of these new sites starting up is that we are seeing the end of the monopolistic rule of the 'biggie' sites, we are being presented options and alternatives. Renderotica is going in a different direction now with subscription rates to see the works of their 'top artists', a couple of new free sites 'Action Babe Central' and 'Comic Babe Central' feature more explicit types art and will enter in the running for this audience. DreamSlayer Artworks is another good example of fast a growing community with 'benefits'. Their recent and very successful Darker Side of Christmas contest held here at Rosity testifies to their potential. All in all I think that the year 2004 is going to be an exciting year full of changes for the better as concerns 3D graphics, and Poser users in particular. With the changing of the year we are going to see a changing of the 'guard' as well.
Thread: Stephanie uses just about everything, doesn't she? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I guess this is OnTopic to fitting things, but OffTopic in ref to Stephanie: But I have discovered lately that there is more flexibility in fitting things to different models than I ever realized. I mean I have always just taken for granted when it says made for Vic 1 that is it, but with modifications, dial tweaking and some postwork I have fit Vic stuff to Posette, Posette stuff to Mil figures, etc. Doesn't always work in every case but worth the experimentation anyway. [All reference here is for Poser4]. I have never thought of trying various morphs on models they weren't created for, but thanks for the idea.

I can partially accept the rule...up to the part 'keep it clean', that sets off my defense sensibilities Alas, yes...we are guests here. It was not always so. Once many moons ago it was a community group...all for one, one for all. Of course there were 'owners-moderators' who had certain rules because that is the bureacratic...sorry, I mean democratic way of doing things. As to the tag line rule mentioned, what did they expect to get a lot of stuff stating that the 'family that sex-plays together, stays together' or something like that? I can't imagine anyone stepping into taboo territory such as that. And I guess if any of you Poser artists just happen to be of the naturist [belief and practice of family/group nudism] movement, you better tread lightly on your subject matter...don't portray your personal familal beliefs in your art. Whatever happened to the old philosophy of: "The Body Beautiful...The Mind Intellectual...The Soul Inspirational"? I now step down off my spinach box b4 I become 'un-guestitized'.

Forgive the typos, but who has time to Preview Post and correct b4 moving on to the next adventure?
Thread: A few questions about Renderosity....please answer.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was actually going to be about the Renderosity site..."My gawd", I thought. "This thread is going to run up into the thousands of posts, and go until someone hits a nerve and it is locked!"
Thread: Good reference site for hairstyles | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another very good source for hair styles is one of the various catalogs put out by the wig manufacturers. Most are free and ads for the catalogs appear in most every major magazine. A good way to keep updated on the latest styles.
Thread: Darker Shade of Christmas has ended/judging complete | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As one of the judges, I can honestly say it was hard as all of the art was right on target with the theme and well executed. I am thrilled to see some new names in the winners/honorary lists that are unknown to me up to this point. I frequent most of the online galleries and will be watching for future works of these people. One thing I overlooked mentioning in my previous post, was the prize collection put up for this contest...amazing stuff. The prize posters need a round of applause and appreciation for donating such an array of great items.

I believe you pretty much covered in a few words the entire year. Your words hold wisdom, whereas so many people wasted so many words this year in protest and dissatisfaction over trivial matters. The sad thing is that a lot of what you have said will probably have to be repeated year after year...some folks just never get it.

Congratulations on a very successful contest, I beleive this will be the forerunner of many similar ones to come from other sources. Unbiased judging, and everyone wins...no losers. I believe that Laska and catlin_mc's comments summed up the contest in a nutshell: Everyone had an equal chance of winning and it was fun!

This might be one of those "What browser do you use?" things. I had no problems as all with Netscape7...had the thing d/ld within a minute of hitting the d/l link.
Thread: Is the Daz NYwoman still alive and kickin? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
She very nearly was not around when she was available...never really did get popular at all. Poser World still has some clothing items available for her, but other than that she just faded away.

Sorry to hear you are having problems...hopefully you will soon recover without any losses.
