Markschum, looks like your method would also work well, I'd have to play around a bit with the RGB to make it more of a brownish yellow and tone down the greenish tint. I'll try both methods & see what I can do with it.
Any chance of posting a screenshot of what your math node setup looks like? Apologies for my lack of knowledge, just haven't quite learned yet how to insert nodes, what to click on, how to find them and add them/connect them. Many thanks!

Thank you very much Nanette, that sounds like something simple I can try with gimp. I did locate the folder that contains those images. I assume once I've lightened the color it's ok to name it different and save it to the same folder as the original, then find it in the library and swap them.
Looks like there are 2 image maps being used for color and one for bump. (Much to learn though, all the cords connecting the nodes just look like spaghetti to me, lol, don't really know yet why they're connected the way they are :-))

IsaoShi, thanks for the reply. Yes, unfortunately the tutorial manual's procedure is for strand based, and wasn't that difficult, but nothing in the manual for conforming hair coloring. I did notice the conforming hair used image files, and I did check the material library, but none of Ben's alternative hair color are blonde, only goes as light as a light brown.
Quote - ... assuming you are using render GC you should ensure that the transparency and bump maps use a custom GC setting of 1.0, rather than the render setting.
Not totally clear what you mean by GC setting?
Quote - I realised that we really need to use the original colour texture to control the new colour, rather than just applying a blanket colour over the whole desaturated texture.
With the simple tab open in the material room, I did try to change/lighten the Diffuse and Ambient colors to a yellowish shade, but that only made Ben look like he was a canary once rendered, lol.
A step by step procedure with images would be just what I need to learn this. I'll have to see if I can find Bagginsbill's post. I've been diligently reading the manual, but I still have a way to go in grasping the concept of how the nodes are used and how they affect the outcome.
Meanwhile, any further suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

By pure chance I discovered one thing that helped when scaling Ben Smaller, and saved me a few steps. For each piece of clothing I noticed two boxes in the Properties panel that were not checked. One is "Include morphs when conforming", the other is *"Include scales when conforming". *
I checked both of those boxes before conforming the clothing, and when I scaled Ben, the clothing automatically scaled too. So, at least some progress being made here. Still getting some tearing when manually posing, but I'm reading about how to fix that now.
Couple of questions:
Anyone know where there might be some "conforming" clothing available for Ben and Kate ? Seems there's only one set of casual wear included with PoserPro2010 for the kid's figures, basically jeans, Tshirt, sneakers. I don't need flashy clothes, casual clothes are fine, I just want to have a few to choose from.
Is there a simple way to add a picture or artwork onto a conforming T-Shirt? It would most likely be a jpeg image I would be using.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

However when I directly move Ben with the editing tools (manually), I get tears in the clothing, as seen below in the second screenshot (red arrow).

Ratscloset, thank you for the reply. I did not use the Figure menu command to scale the figure. PhilC’s first step says to “manually” scale the figure, so that’s what I did. Unfortunately, I still could not get it to work.
I was able to get the clothes properly scaled (to a point) using the following method, but I must be missing something, because strangely enough, even though the clothes stay conformed ok if I load a preset Ben pose from the library, when I manually move an arm or leg with one of the editing tools, the clothes will tear. Here’s what I did step by step, any suggestions would be appreciated.
This method matched the clothing size pretty well, and after loading a preset pose from the pose library, the clothes stayed conformed with the figure. However, if the clothes “tear” if I “manually” grab an arm or leg to move it, I won’t be able to manually animate this character.
Will post pics of results below....
Thanks!

Here are the steps I did in order
1.Load Ben figure
2 Made sure Ben & Body were selected
3 Used the scale tool to scale Ben smaller
4 From Props library I loaded Ben’s Pants & TShirt
5 Selected Pants and used Figure>Conform To & selected Ben
6 Selected Shirt and used Figure>Conform To & selected Ben
7 Went to Python scripts/Wardrobe Wizard/Utilities/Figure/More…
8 Made sure that Ben & Body were selected
9 Clicked on Copy Scaling
10 Selected Ben Pants and clicked on Apply Scaling
11 Selected Ben Shirt and clicked on Apply Scaling
What seems to be happening is I’m scaling Ben first (without the clothing) to make him smaller, then when I load in the pants and shirt they are set for his original size, which is bigger, so the “conform to” command doesn’t seem to make the clothes shrink to fit his new smaller size. The clothing fit was actually closer when I used the “figure/height” command. Either way doesn’t seem to work. Even tried using “figure/height” command after putting the clothes on Ben, and selected “adolescent” to make him smaller, then did the same for the shirt and pants. Then ran the wardrobe wizard script, but end up with the same result as you see in my first post. Closer but the script didn’t seem to do anything to change it.

Ok, will give that a try & hopefully it will work, thank you for the instructions PhilC, much appreciated!
What is the difference in scaling the figure manually, rather than doing it all at once with the Figure menu and selecting a size there? Just curious.

Hi markshum
I was just looking at Mimic Pro the other day, looks like it could be worth getting at some point. There's also a Talk Designer Assistant plugin I saw that might help as well. That is a good alternative suggestion you have to use a video editor if I can't get it done within Poser. I know I have some options, just have to experiment a bit to see what works best. Thanks

Hi Trekkie Grrrl
Thanks for the reply, yes, I rendered it to an avi file and still the same. I forgot to mention that this was only one fairly short sentence of dialogue audio. I also typed in the same sentence in the supporting text field in TD, but that didn't seem to change anything. Surprisingly it actually seemed a little better "without" the added supporting text.

Ok, beginning to understand now. So these Daz figures are either setup a bit different from the default poser figures, or I'm not seeing anything in the expression folders for V3 & V4 because I haven't yet purchased the full morph++ package. That must be why the poser default figures have files in the expression folders because they come with a complete set of morphs already.
Well, as long as you're saying the folder and library setups look correct, then that's how I'll install the rest of the figures I get from Daz in the future. At least I finally have some reference point of how things should look. Many thanks!

Ok, I just tried to run the same V4 installer again and this time it worked, very strange that I was getting that message earlier today. Well at least it's working now, I'm not going to rack my brain over it at this point! :-)
Does my file setup for my external runtime look ok? I just thought it strange that everything went into the pose library. With the default Poser figures, there are poses in the pose library, expressions in the expressions library, so I thought it would follow the same with the Daz figures.
Thanks again hborre.
