Further point re: DAZ Inj/Rem It seems to me to be best to keep these in the original Runtime/Poses folder. I tried putting all the Vickey 3 mats into a new folder under "runtime/poses", and it works OK until you try "inject all" - then you get the "go make coffee while Poser looks for file" syndrome for EVERY SINGLE MAT! (sheesh - 3 - finger jobbie..) I haven't sorted out my runtimes yet, I'm working on a cunning plan, but haven't got it sorted in my head yet. That's my pennyworth done, cheers, Diolma
Thread: making a thumbnail in poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
U guys just saved me a lot of work. Here's my "notes to me" for making thumbs in P5...(please understand; this is NOT directions, just self-reminders..) Changing .png thumbs. This is more finicky than in P4! Example from the all'n'wonder dress... 1. Load figure etc & dress. 2. Size screen to be square 3. Position as required and render. 4. Paste to background (under "display" menu) 5. Switch to aux cam and move cam til only the background can be seen. 6. Save to library with new name (eg for 2PieceRed, save as 2PieceRed2) This will just show up as blank, 'cos there's no alpha channel! 7. Open the new .png file in PSP 8. Load a relevant mask (there's a "0.msk" in the All-n-Wonder tex directory) 9. Save the file -- check in poser (pop out of the directory and back in again) 10. Delete the old .png file and the new .pz2 file, rename new .png file to the old name. Sheesh! THANKS -- it's a lot easier now! time to wander off to freestuff/utilities...

Go to Render>Render Options (or hot ctrl-Y) and then turn on "Render to new window", then "Match Document Settings" Cheers, Diolma

Oops - forgot something. In order to move figure, you MUST turn off Inverse Kinematics first. Go to Figure>Use Inverse Kinematics, and ensure that nothing is ticked (usually both legs need to be toggled off - that's the Poser default). Inverse Kinematics (IK for short) effectively nail the feet to the floor (or the hands to wherever they are). Personally, turning off IK is the first thing I do whenever I load a new figure - I find it generally makes posing easier for me. It's become a habit, which is why I forgot about it. Cheers, Diolma.

shalana All you should need to do is select either the body or the hip of one of the figures then adjust the xTran, yTran or zTran dial (for left/right, nearer/further, up/down respectively). Just as an aside, try loading couple of props from the primitives folder (eg a cube or sphere) into a new scene and play about with positioning them; they're not nearly so heavy on resources, so Poser responds much quicker..:-)) Cheers, Diolma

errm -- I've just found out about the forum "Virtual Tavern" -- this would probably do better there, I'll leave it here for a couple of days, then delete it.. Cheers (hic)... Diolma
Thread: V3 eyebrow transmap instead of painted | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK Karen, I understand:-)) However the above can still happen (even after a render) as I found out, unless there's a way to force Poser to re-load a file it thinks it's already got (if there is, I'd love to know what it is - it can be a pain having to restart poser every few minutes). Cheers, Diolma

One possibility for this problem could be Poser's cache system. I discovered thi annoying little "feature" when I was try to generate a texture-map for a prop. I did a quick 1st draft for the map with my paint program, loaded the tex oto the prop and renedered, just to check how I was doing. I then switched back to my paint program, made some alterations to the map, swithced back to Poser and re-applied the map. Nothing changed. After several attempts, it dawned on me: the file name hadn't changed, so Poser took one look at it and thought "I've already got that one loaded, I don't ned to load it again". DOH! Only way I've found to get over that, (Other than to save each modification to a new file, rather than updating an existing file) is to close down Poser then restart it. I don't know if this applies in your case, if not I apologise for a rather long-winded explanation. Cheers, Diolma

pararehabra: "parallel to..": in this sense, means "in the same folder that contains..". So all folders/directories in the folder that contains your "Runtime" directory are parallel to it... (btw: "folder" and "directory" are synonyms - they mean the same thing -- sorry if any confusion arose from that) Hope that helps..:-)) Diolma

My thanks to Ockham about the "parallel to Runtime" thing -- I didn't know that (and I have tons of parallel folders, mainly due to free-stuff installing bits there...) Cheers, Diolma
