Glad you got it started :) You might want to look a little deeper into the book that came with it. The last few computers I've had always had a way to force it to read the recovery disk. There should be a key combination you have to hold down while starting it.
Of course you have to be able to get the disk in the drive. Sounds like maybe yours wasn't getting far enough for this to work, but it's something to try if you have this trouble again.

Thread: OT - Okay Tell Me About Windows 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just to throw another pepper into the gumbo, I have only Poser 6 on a W7 64-bit machine. I installed it to the root drive, but other than that it is installed just as on my XP machines. All of my content, including extra runtimes are under the Poser 6 folder. I don't, however, use the word "runtime" in any but the original. The others are named for the character, libraries under those foldes. All geometry and texture files are in the main runtime. I've used it several times a day for months, and have had no problems whatsoever.
I don't know about DAZ installers; I haven't bought anything from them in a couple of years. V4 and M4 are SEP (somebody else's problem).

Thread: Importing a wheel from 3dsmax to poser 6 : axis problems ! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: ERC Download Page
I'm assuming that since you say they are okay on the Y axis that they are separate parts. If they were one part they would rotate around a point between the two, like the front wheels of a child's wagon. If their centers are okay, the way to make them turn together is to use ERC code. Some code needs to be manually inserted in the Body, and the Y rotation channels of each wheel. The code in the Body will give you a new dial, and the code in the wheels will make them react to the new dial.
This is really quite simple. See the link for tutorials on the subject. If that's not the problem, please explain exactly what is happening..

Thread: A question of "connecting" - how do I do it in the function editor - Silverblade | Forum: Vue
Thanks for the suggestion, but my experimenting days are long past. I don't even know where to begin with this. My biggest problem is that I don't have broadband and most of the tutorials are video. I saw a great one on the function editor a couple of weeks ago, but it was so slow that the audio was completely unintelligable. I watched it for over two hours before I had to give up on it.
I loved Vue 6, but after installing the 8.4 update to Vue 8 I guess I'm wasting my time learning anything. If you can't save a file and reopen it, it doesn't matter what you learn.
Sorry--just venting. I'm extremely frustrated.

Thread: A question of "connecting" - how do I do it in the function editor - Silverblade | Forum: Vue
You show those connections on the side of the node, as does the manual. Nothing is ever hooked up to them. Are they inputs or outputs, or does it make a difference? Thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me :)

Are you using Windows default Aero Themes? Try switching to Windows 7 Basic or Classic--whatever they call it. Aero can do weird things, and uses about a Gig of RAM by itself.

Thread: Searching for Gecko morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I doubt that there are any morphs available for it. I already did a pic that might fit in with what you have in mind, unless you're a fan. I had him just run over by a motorcycle. The title was "Oh, Now You're Quiet!" I did the morphs for that in an external modeling program.
You might try scaling for some of what you need. Magnets probably won't be much help, except the head.
I hope you're not a fan of his; I hate the little bugger :)

Thread: AdvancedGraph? | Forum: Vue
I finally found that out by scrolling through the manual just a while ago. Turns out that search can't fnd it if you put a space between the words ;)
I can try to use it now, but I still can't understand why it took a 146mb executable to enable it. Seems like that should have left more of a footprint.
I said "try" to use it because it has even less documentation than ecosystems. They hint at what these things can do, but don't give you a clue about how to use them. How did you find out about the sunflower thing? Thanks for the help, bruno.

Thanks again for the help.

Thread: Airborne Brigade | Forum: Vue
Hi weezerhopw. That's where I get stuck in my head. How do I make an object invisible without making the material, the ecosystem, invisible also?
I imagine there's a secret, but I don't know what it is.

Thread: Airborne Brigade | Forum: Vue
Thanks, Rutra, I'll check that out. I've already been warned by Vue to back off on editing a function because I didn't have AdvanceGraph. I'll get it if Cornucopia will sell it to me. I tried to buy some items that were listed as being compatible with Studio, only to be told at check-out that I needed to register a copy of Infinite to be able to buy them. I hope they're not always that hard to deal with.
I have 8gigs of RAM, so the scatter/duplicate method should be okay.
Another thing I want to do is use my Liberty Ship to make a convoy. It will have to be an ecosystem for that. Wish me luck!

Thread: Poser6 Crashing - QuadCore cpu to blame ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have P6 (6.0.2.118) on a new quad-core, and it seems to work as well as it did under XP. I don't animate, though. Usually Poser crashes are due to graphic card problems, but not sure if that means anything if you get as far as starting an animation.
Give some details on how it crashes, any error messages, etc. Someone may recognize your problem.

Thread: WWII fighter pilot needed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've used that French pilot often. It has a flowing scarf, but you can delete it.
To get the pilot of the Spitfire, load the plane and export the pilot to OBJ. In the export dialog, uncheck Universe, then check Pilot Body and Pilot Head. You might want to pose it first, as it will be one OBJ after this.
Tip: If you export the OBJ to Bazze's texture folder it will pick up the texture images okay when you load it.
