I must be doing something wrong. While the new stuff is definately different, it didn't take me very long to get used to it. I can read everything just fine and I actually really LOVE some of the new gallery stats that I get when visiting my gallery. It all comes down to one word. **CHANGE**. Humans **HATE** change. It's a fact of life. I have not uploaded a new image yet since the changes, so we'll see how that goes when I do, but otherwise, I think things are fine.ÂJust my two cents,
Dragontales
PS - I LOVE this new ability to modify the text in my posts!!!)

I too use Poser 6 with vue infinite and have no problems. It even asks if I want to reimport the poser file it I modified it. You might want to try reinstalling.Â

I have a laptop that's about 4 years old. It's only got 1 gig of ram, and has a 2.something or other processor. (sorry, I haven't looked at the specs in a while.) I use Vue 5 infinite.....and LOVE it. I did buy 5 esprit first, but when I saw the ecosystems feature...I knew I had to uprade. I haven't regretted it once. I do run out of ram, but then the program just goes into a memory saver mode where the objects get shown as boxes. Since it's not a modeling program, and more of a composition program, that usually is ok. I've come to work around it. Perhaps I'm not pushing its limits as much as others...I don't know. I do know that I rarely have problems with it. The updates have all helped the bugs it came with. Overall, I'd say its a great program.ÂÂ
Hope that helps.Â

I'm really curious as to what 6 would have that 5 doesn't. The ecosystems feature was something that MADE me get 5 infinite. That feature alone has taken my renders to a whole new level of world building. I couldn't live without it. Could there also be something equally as useful in 6? I don't follow the inner circles, so I'm not sure what's been talked about as far as new stuff. I will gladly shell out money for an ugrade...as long as there's something that I'd really want from it.Â

I too was wondering about this, and I think there are ways to improve the quality of terrains in Vue. Procedural is certainly one way to go, but I've also tried using the resolution doubler on the terrain editor. I think by raising the resolution of your terrains, you can get more detail in them. Combine that with good textures and I think we can come close to the terragen ones. Check out the link for a really detailed terrain in vue.Thread: Recommendations: (1) Clothing Converter, and (2) Eye Prop | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was kind of angry too that I would have to pay for the next update to the tailor in order to use it with poser 6. I think I'll save my money and get the wardrobe wizard.

Personally, I hate the way the Renderosity galleries are set up. The way it is now, you can only decide on one gallery in which to put your image. What if you used more than one. I use poser 6, vue infinite, and Photoshop 7 to usually complete an image. I then sit there and try and decide where to post it. I usually go with the application that most of the work was done in, or in which the image mostly shows. I really wish there was a way to just upload...check off the applications used, and the genre. Then viewers could search by application alone, genre, etc.

Now see...I'm confused...I've tried doing this with poser files, but when the newer file is brought in, the textures that I tweaked or changed, revert back to the ones it came with from poser. I HAVE gotten the message about a newer file and updating, but NEVER get the option to replace Vue's textures or not. Is there something I'm doing wrong??

Thanks for the reply. I'm using 5 infinite. I'll go back and try some of the setting options. Thanks for the tips... Dragontales

Yup, that sounds about right. I love to collapse the materials, and my guess is that's the problem then. I'll try it without collapsing and see if that works, but yes, it's definately a letdown that they don't plan on fixing it. I actually find the whole materials thing a royal pain in Vue. I really miss multi-materials from max. Thanks for the info. Dragontales

Sorry, I guess I need to clarify. I'm using Vue 5 infinite, with poser 6. The demo I was referring to was the demonstration tutorial vid at the link above. :) I don't get any prompt asking me about textures, and it should work with poser as the tutorial vid shows them using poser. I may take your advice and post over at e-on. Thanks for the info. Dragontales
Thread: Daz Software Questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I currently have the tailor but need to upgrade to use it with poser 6. However I didn't know about these alternatives. My question is...where can I find them. I didn't seem to be able to find them either here or at daz. I'm mainly interested in Wardrobe Wizard. Also, Using the same clothing article and figure, which one do you think gives the best results? Thanks, Dragontales

Willow12.... Aside from trying the book, some tutorials (from the e-on website as well as here and elsewhere) and just digging in and getting your hands dirty, there's not much else I can offer, nor do I think anyone else can offer. However...One thing I will say is try to just stick with one thing at a time. For example...just start playing with terrains. load one into the scene....go into the editor...etc. Just stick with that...until you think you have a decent grasp of how they work. Then move on to something else. Perhaps the atmosphere editor. Or materials. At least this way you won't get so overwhelmed, and can open that book to the section you need if you get stuck. Instead of trying to read it from cover to cover. Good Luck. Dragontales
