bloodsong, "targetGeom" Also, Morph Manager is by Mason. I don't think it's available in Free Stuff anymore, but I'm pretty sure it's still at http://www.3d-cc.com. (Mr. X was hosting it for him at some point maybe?) Scott, You can delete everything in an .obj file except for the v-lines. And for everyone, Please, please, please remember that distributing .obj files of other people's work is illegal, even if it's "sqeezed." We can do this with DAZ/Zygote stuff because they have given us all permission. However, when making .obj file MT's for other people's work make sure you get their permission first. Thanks.

There aren't really even rumors about Poser 5 yet. Curious Labs hasn't announced anything yet. I'm sure we're still a few months away from hearing anything official, and several months away from it actually being available.

Thread: ASIA model for Victoria2 question... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Asia comes with custom morph targets that come as squeezed .obj files. You need to load these onto your figure and name them with the exact names that the readme describes in order for the face poses to recognize them. Hope this helps.

Select your jaw, use your left or right side camera and position it so you have a good profile of the jaw. Switch to outline display mode and open your Joint Editor and select the bend channel from the pulldown. You will now see 4 legs, extruding from the centerpoint, two red lines and two green lines. The area of your bodyparts that come between a red-line and a red-line DOESN'T deform. The area of your bodyparts that come between a green-line and a green-line DOESN'T deform. The area that comes between a green-line and a red-line DOES deform. You'll probably want one of the red-lines and one of the green-lines to be fairly close to each other on the front side, with the redline just bellow the upper lip and the greenline just above the lower lip. Hope this helps.

Poser 5 wishlist: I wish they would implement some sort of device that will scan my hard drive for personal information and transmit it to CL headquarters so they can sell it to marketing firms. Okay I am just going to render this 480 frame, high-res, Bryce animation with transparency, volumetrics and -- oh, it's done. Hey, RadArt... did you know there's a Compaint & Debate forum here? The quality of characters just went downhill when Poser 3 was released. I need a joint-controlled-morph that makes Posette's butt blimp out when she bends over. The wedge cut on Mike? Now that would be new.

I have an undo button. Also, One of Poser's greatest strength is all the ready-to-use content that comes with it, as well as a massive amount of ready-to-use content available here and other sites for sale and for free. In other programs if you want a human character, you have to build it, texture it, and rig it yourself. It could be months before you can start animating it. Hope this helps.

Pro Pack is an upgrade to Poser 4. You need Poser 4 in order for it to run. The pro-pack adds features such as a figure set-up room, plugins for 3DS Max and Lightwave, python scripting, motion blur and more. The learning curve is very easy compared to other programs as far as learning the basics. Hope this helps.

I have Maya and everytime I make a figure it ends up looking like something out of Final Fantasy. How do I get my Maya figures to look more like the Poser ones?

Vicki's eyebrows are way too thin and realistic. Does anyone know how to make them look like two huge solid brown bricks sticking out of her forehead?

"Yes... no... maybe... I don't know. Could you repeat the question?" -TMBG That could work actually, and now that I think about it, it should be fine. But just to be on the safe side, I would highly suggest contacting the folks at DAZ first and asking them. Hope this helps.

Make sure you get Kozaburo's permission before you distribute sqeezed .obj morph targets. Squeezed .obj MT's are only legal for DAZ items because DAZ has given permission for people to use them. You need to get the individual authors' permission to distribute squeezed MT's for other authors' work. The hair looks great!

You can do this with 'ERC'. It takes some cr2 hacking. It is explained at rbtwhiz's site.Thread: Help! Please? | Forum: Poser Technical

The above is a link to a tutorial on using the magnets in Poser. As far as modellers go, I personally love Lightwave more than my own kids (okay, I don't really have any kids) although I would say it's way too expensive just for making morph targets. There are a few modellers out there (like early versions of Amapi, Strata and even Truespace) you can get free with certain 3D magazines and such. Make sure you try the programs out before you pay for one. Hope this helps.Thread: PZ2 question | Forum: Poser Technical
This could have something to do with calculating foot position if IK is applied to your figure...but I'm really not sure on this one.
