Ohhhhh... I forgot to mention the WORST thing about the marketplace declining my card... It SAYS my card has been declined, but oddly enough, an authorization manages to appear on my card EVERY TIME. Funny how they can't seem to accept it, but the card is obviously valid and the money is obviously there. Then I have to wait around a week for the authorization to drop off before I can use the money for anything else. NOT good when you have very little money for Poser items as it is and you get to buy infrequently already, and ESPECIALLY if you're on a deadline for a PAID project and you don't have enough money to buy the item elsewhere before the deadline. :-/

I believe Mick was trying to say that Renderosity merchants get paid a higher percentage if they are "exclusive" and do not sell that product elsewhere. Of course, since Mick declined to purchase that item because it was only available here at Renderosity, that merchant made nothing. Whereas that merchant would have made some money if it was available elsewhere. It is quite unfortunate that so many top quality merchants go exclusive, since Renderosity has declined my card so many times, many merchants have lost sales from me. I've missed out on quite a few great products because they were only available here. I can only begin to imagine how many sales various merchants have lost by being exclusive. I mean, I'm sure many more people than me have had legitimate cards declined. Not to mention the amount of people who do not like Renderosity for whatever reason.

Well, I would point out that I already am not purchasing anything from the Marketplace because of the repeated declinations of my credit card despite the card working at many other stores such as Daz, 3D Commune, etc. I just gave up trying after getting no help from Renderosity other than messages telling me to make sure I was entering the correct address and blah, blah. I KNOW how to purchase online. I NEVER have problems with other online stores. Anyway, I was considering trying to purchase some items with a new card that I have recently received, however this is the final straw to make me not want to purchase anything from Renderosity ever again. It's not so much the censorship that angers me, although that certainly does play a part. It's the fact that I cannot review the entire product before purchasing it. Why in heaven's name would I purchase a product that might be incomplete or low quality? If I cannot see the texture on the nipples, for example, I could end up buying a product with nipple piercings or nipples in a color that I find terribly ugly. What if the texture has a large tattoo around the bikini line with no option to remove it. That HAS happened to me on a texture I got before, and I had to edit it off of the texture manually. Some people may not have the skill or the time to do something like that at all. Why would I risk that when there are other marketplaces that allow full viewing? I suppose I can understand a policy like this when it comes to the characters that are obviously based on very young characters like the Mil kids of RC Lina. But Aiko? EJ? Hiro? Please. If I can't see what I'm getting, I'm not buying.

Personally, I think those types of lips are beautiful. I love the lips of women like Angelina Jolie, Jeri Ryan, and Scarlett Johansson. I'm female, if that matters. Of course, I like thinner lips, too. But I do honestly think lips that are more plump are usually prettier. Besides, it's easy to change that one part of a character if you don't like it.

I had BOTH of my credit cards declined recently because the system can't seem to verify my address and this has happened before, months ago. It DOES, however, authorize the money on my card. That means I DON'T get my purchase, but I also lose my money for several days until the authorization drops off. I make LOTS of online purchases and Renderosity is the ONLY one that ever declines me like this. I will most likely not even be trying to buy anything from Renderosity for a very long time. That's most unfortunate, too, because I would love to support the artists here whenever I can. :(

I'm sure that $29.95 is a nice price for those who like her, but I think she's really homely. I went through the whole long thread with a bunch of renders of her and I personally thought she was a product that I wouldn't want to own for free, let alone pay for, but that that's just MY opinion. I know alot of people really like her and that's great. I just don't.

I think it's terribly rude of those who are jumping on joezabel for expressing the opinion that it might not be worth $29.95. SHAME ON YOU. Joezable was expressing an opinion and just because you don't share it does not mean you have to jump all over someone. For shame. Tsk tsk.

YES, creating these items IS hard work. YES, the content creators probably ARE underpaid for the hard work that they put in developing these products. But I think joezabel did a good job of expressing an opinion in a polite and professional manner and did not deserve to be attacked.

I've been wanting her for a long time, too. I've spent hours and hours trying to make a character that looks like her. I certainly wish he would offer her for free/sale/something. :)

I feel it's more wise to read a host's TOS than to go on users personal experiences, since personal experiences wouldn't hold up in court. I didn't mean to argue with you, Xena, I simply meant to point out that their TOS are not typical. Most hosts will not shut you off without notice. And most hosts do disclose their overage charges. Those two items alone are enough to arouse suspicion. Whether you have had a good experience with them doesn't matter in the long run, it's their legal terms that really matter, and the simple fact is that they do not disclose what their overage charges are, which means that if you suddenly get hotlinked or have a run of people downloading items and you get shut off, they might tell you that you now owe them $15 per Gig for overages before they will turn you back on. They may indeed be a good company, but I personally wouldn't take that risk. And yes, 50 Gb is plenty for some types of businesses. A good friend of mine gets alot of business through search engines and although he makes around $20,000 US a month, he only uses around 15 Gb of bandwidth per month. :)

Yikes! I was seriously interested in moving to Australia until I read that. I guess I'll wait a few years, because I like my unlimited cable internet at 3 Megabits download speed. :)

Well, I have dedicated hosting and I have 2000 Gb a month, currently, so I have never had overages since I got this plan. But I would never want to be disconnected. I suppose I can understand wanting to be disconnected if you are running a personal site, but if I was running a business site on that hosting and got shut off for overages, I would be absolutely fuming mad, irate, livid... you get the picture. LOL Your ISP charges for bandwidth? Wow. I'm on cable, too, and I have never had to pay for more bandwidth. I upload and download a massive amount of stuff monthly because I run a design company from home. Just like with hosting, I'd be livid if they shut me off or billed me extra. :(
