Thread: V4 won't install into Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - The problem is the missing dzinstall.ini file - you need to create one before some isntallers will run. You hae two options - run an installer that creates the file if it's missing (Emotiguy works) or use a text editor to create a new, empty, file called dzinstall.ini in C:Program Files (x86)CommonFilesDaz
yes!!!! THIS WORKED!!! Loaded it, opened Poser and voila! a smiling V4 (well, you know...) Thank you thank you thank you!! I know this is a cakewalk for you but on behalf of those of us that pull out our hair with these bumps, you have undying gratitude! :))))

I think the problem has been located. I've gone in through Windows Explorer and checked - there is no Content folder. Wasn't aware that was possible.

Unfortunately, that's part of the problem. The installer does not allow you to point it to another directory. As soon as you select either DAZ, Poser (all files) or Poser7 it aborts the installation. Instantly. There's no option of in which directory to install it.

ok, thank you. where would I find these instances of dzinstall.ini? I haven't installed any content at all into poser yet and I don't have Daz Studio on this computer.

ooooooooookay, I just did that and it said "file not found - DzInstall.ini I'm guessing that's not what it's supposed to say?

Okay, I'm willing to try that. Where do I open the command prompt or create a .bat file? Will this also need to be done for M4 or will this fix the glitch for all DAZ installs?

thank you.
The exact message: (asterisks mine)
**There has been an error.
Error reading INI file C:Program Files (x86)CommonFilesDazdzInstall.ini
the application will exit now.**

Tried that and got the same message. It used to give you the option of where to install but that made it too easy I guess. This is beyond frustrating. :(
Thread: Pro 2010 library 'fault'? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Update: An identical library fault error happened again today and I was unable to go back far enough in system restore to correct it, so I submitted the problem to Smith Micro support. While waiting for an answer I browsed through 'answers' and found a similar problem for the Poser 8 library. The recommendation was to update to the latesst Flash for IE, even if you don't use that browser. Well, I use Pro2010 and Firefox (don't care for IE) but figured it was worth a shot. For whatever reason, this worked and the library opened as soon as I opened Poser. I don't know if this will help anyone experiencing a similar problem, but it's definitely worth a try.
