Jjroland, Acadia and stormchaser have hit the nail on the head. I was actually bitching along these lines with a similiar thread I started yesterday re the art charts. But that thread was reduced to some juvenile comments about chocolate.
At the very least it seems that what people are doing has become apparant and common knowledge - in fact gillbrooks enlitened me to things that were going on that I had no idea of.

There is what I call the "hug club" here at renderosity. A collection of cliques, whereby someone of said club posts a picture - despite it being good or not - ultimately gets an overwhelming response of: "great job, hugs" etc...ad infinatum from other members of the hug club.
Take a look at the art charts - there are pictures that deserve to be up there and there are pictures without any artistic merit what so ever. And before people get their panties in a bind - I am not talking about topic - I am talking about technique and skill.
Further to that, I've rarely, if ever seen any creative criticism advised.
If you see a picture with a title with a dedication to such and such person - that's a hug club.
Another way people do it - is by posting a comment on your picture - just so long as you do if for their picture. I've been IM by people telling me that they've commented on my picture and could I please do so for them.
There people that pump out multple pictures per week - the sum comments or favorites is tallied and inevitably gets said artist on the favorite artist board.
At the end of the day - the cream always rises to the top. If your artowork is good you'll get noticed and if it should be your choice. Paid work.

If I remember correctly you can setup your screen ratio via your graphics card.
The apple monitors are by far the best monitors available - however they are also the most expensive. But with the 30" monitor you won't need two - you have more than enough room to see everyrhing.
But check your graphics card setup - you should be able to fix things there.
Lastly, if you are deciding to go with the apple monitors - check first - make sure your graphics card can accept the apple monitor.

Hi rowlando - I didn't actually have to set any settings?
If you are referring to contrast, hue, saturation...it would think its personal preference.
You'll love the the viewable space on the monitor.

First off - I wasn't referring to just myself. I now of many people who have moved on to different sites.
Second.- I don't believe in being subtle. Ill say what I mean point blank.
Lastly - I seem to have touched a nerve. I wasn't to any degree referring to talent. I was referring to topic. An in reference to my talent level -  you might want to check out my book when it comes out this july in case you want to expand upon YOUR talent level.

This site is first and foremost a business. I agree 100% - whose revenue is generated by its memebers. Members that have already begun to leave.

The reason why artists get so pissed of towards this new thumbnail policy is because it hampers the way in which your art can be displayed. Take a look at the gallery. Its all bloody head shots. You can't differentiate between the themes of the pics. I took a look at your gallery clawshrimp - most of your gallery is males and all of your gallery is clothed people. You won't be affected by the new rules and regulations. Therefore you can't understand why people are insensed.
Censorship pisses me off, Censorship for stupid reasons makes it even worse. People have the ability to flag nudes  - if you don't want to see them - DON"T LOOK AT THEM.

"Time honored" tradition" of indicating a thread has gone on too long - it too post pictures of cats. If you think the post has gone on too long - unsubscribe to it and post your cat pics in the gallery. As you said if you don't like something go somewhere else.
Unfortunately since input of any value has declined and the only ones adding anything related to this thread, seem to be jjroland, zarat and pjz unsubscribing seems to be the only thing left to do.
