Thread: Dont Buy Vue 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
hrm...I haven't had problems rendering in Vue...and I push *hard:
That bugger would not render in V5i...but a breeze in vue6i.
Like I said in the other thread...I've been working on a poser/vue project for my sister...
It renders well :)Â too bad I'm not near example (don't have any online yet).
Thread: Vue 6 A Ripoff Job | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have Vue 6i...
Make sure you have installed the updates for esprit...and the sr for poser.
I've gotten two sr for vue so far since the final.
I havent' been having a problem with the current scene I'm working on. I imported the figures one at a time. I unchecked, pose within vue and kept checked use shader tree.Â
Thread: Should I switch to Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No poser does have dynamic cloth...poke through happens with conforming clothing...this is clothing which is already model, saved as figure and made to "conform to" the specific model it is made fore.
Dynamic clothing is made take advatage of the Dynamic Cloth room.Â
In poser you can save poses and animations to the library.
However, I agree that your best solution would by the Vue Xtream bundle.Â
Quote - > Quote - One of the big draw backs of animating in Poser is clothing poke-throughs, where the figures body pokes thru its clothes at extreme poses.
Wow. ok I did not know that Poser did not have dynamic cloth. That is a drawback and is probably what makes some of the models look stiff, like mannequins.
Also, 3ds Max can save poses , and there is a way to mirror animations if my memory serves me correctly.
This has all been very honest and relevant feedback. Thanks!!

Thread: APPLYING MATERIALS TO ALL OF A FIGURE IN 1 CLICK??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Also once you apply to all...resave the material to the library...name v4blue or whatever...and select the whole material option (I forget what's actually called).
Then the next time you use it will apply it to the whole object automatically.
Thread: Question for PC geeks about Vista and XP and DELL (not really Poser related) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Right Khai for your old stuff, but not your new stuff...I can get drivers for my 1 year old xps laptop but my friend with her brand new dell with vista cannot get xp drivers for her hardware.
We looked.
Thread: Achieving best realism of skin with Poser characters rendered in Vue. how? | Forum: Vue

Regarding Poser shader tree rendering inside of Vue, you are never going to achieve results that are as good as native Vue rendering due to the limitations of the Poser render engine. That being said, if you are going to use the Poser shader tree, HyperReal is a must have to get anything close to decent results.
Â
I disagree...hyperreal is only if you have no wish to delve into the material room. It makes things easier but it is not essential.Â
As far as poser vs. vue rendering I agree. I've only scratched the serface of the vue material system. I haven't felt so lost since I first started with bryce way back when. I'll get it though. :)

Quote - I am an artist, not a computer geek (well, not much anyway). ...
To each his own. But as an artist and a geek I find playing in the material room extremely artistic.

For an even cheaper option...you can always use the tutorials out there to build your own skin shader in poser.
That's what I did and then I can apply it to anyone I needed too, add the appropriate skin and bump map, then save the shader as full material (since I use Poser7)
http://www.physicalc-software.com/tutorials/realskinshader/
I've modified mine a bit (I have an affinity for the clay node), but here my latest example using freak and Jessi (this is poser 7...I haven't done anything in vue 6i yet but landscapes and abstracts)

Why spend money on something poser already provides?
Thread: Question for PC geeks about Vista and XP and DELL (not really Poser related) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No, dell uses propriitary hardware which requries dell drivers...since they cannot support xp for newer systems because of MS mandate you would not beable to get the drivers you need make the system work properly with XP.

Thread: (OT) OMG! I'm returning the computer from HELL!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hrm..I love my dells.
buying the warrenty is a must with dell...it will give you a discount on the system in most cases and get you to th people who can help.
As for your issue....Dell sends out the full os with their computers but if you just try to install it on a new dell when they don't make xp drivers for their newer systems anymore..
Well you weren't gonna get that to work regardless.
I'm talking about the proprieitary stuff in dells, dell uses not proprietary stuff too but you need their drivers in order to make it work with the proprietary.Â
Now what you were wanting to do was fine but if you couldn't do it yourself it would have been better to go to custom shop where you can bring a knowledgable friend along.Â
Dells are excellent machines as long as you know enough to get not just get stuck. Kind of like anything in the computer world.Â
Dell is not a blank box company...you can upgrade and tweak but it's not near as custimizable hardware wise as a blank box.
Thread: How can I adjust the Material to achieve this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - o.k., olivier has explained it well. thx fr the link, tirja. the input is the mask for the new colour zone, and the steps are the new colour, and white. make a new map that's black everywhere the new colour goes, and white everywhere else. doug may have used the term "leave me alone" to replace "color ramp", although I feel it would be a violation of his terms of use to reverse-engineer it, as it's an item for sale. hence it may also be a violation to publish the material room screenshot, unless doug gave permission. ( but I could be wrong - haven't read the read-me, and I ain't a lawyer.)
I doubt he has a leg to stand on considering all he did was use shaders provided with the program. You can't claim his painted maps, but his nodes aren't really his.

Create a mask and use the color ramp node...this will allow you color specfic parts of the figure...
